!ATTENTION! Wisconsin Dells meet is going to happen

Shush, Cole. You're going :)

But yeah, I love brisket if cooked and sliced properly. And baby back ribs and pulled pork. :) I usually like a little of both but I won't be greedy lol

Re: Wisconsin Dells meet planning/suggestions

Oh, and this is probably more for Matt. But I did contact the hotel today. The minimum for a group rate would be 10 rooms, and those rooms usually come standard with 2 queen beds. I informed him that we were interested in keeping the price low for everyone involved so we would probably want the standard or whatever but he said they did offer a variation of rooms which included bunks mixed in with queens and such.
Now... I assume you'll want 2 persons per room or maybe 4 I guess depending on how comfortable you are. I know Brian and I did a 5 guys 1 sack thing in KC and we got out under $50 for the weekend and it worked out quite well.

I'll let Matt respond and then I suppose we either need to set up a group or we just need to all reserve a room at the hotel. I personally don't see 10 rooms getting filled just because people are fickle. But I'll do as the group needs. Personally the rates we found for rooms at that hotel are extremely reasonably priced in my opinion. I like this hotel though...
check it out if you haven't already Wisconsin Dells Hotel Rome | Mt. Olympus Resorts and just for comparison my personal photo :D http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l171/BrandonL2000/5a24f486.jpg

I personally don't feel that you should bite the entire cost alone on this thing. I'd be willing to toss some change for some well cooked smoked food. :) I think that's fair

ok clint and tony are added.

ok so we arent reserving rooms for people becuase we need 10 rooms for a group rate which is ridiculous. so we are trying to get everyone to stay at mount olympus. this is where its gonna become like middle school and call room mates. let me know when you get everyone we are trying to go for 4 people a room. for those couples you can do your own thing i understand

Do you have to put a deposit on those 10 rooms? Or can we just say we are going to fill 10 rooms for a discount or even to get rooms close to each other?

That'd be awesome. I figure i'll let everyone know how much the meat was and if you wanna throw some cash in great. If not is what it is

It might be better to have everyone bring their own meat, that way you don't get stuck with a big bill if people don't pitch in, and people can have whatever they wanted. I'd still let your fiance handle and heat my meat.

Since Matt Palm asked me to come up with this the other day...

Well it's not gonna be a super huge amount. just gotta know how much to save all together for hotel stay and such as well. But if people wanna buy their own meat we need to know what they're bringing so we can get the right amount of seasoning, woodchips, spices, sauces, etc for cooking it. Main reason i thought about picking up meat early is for like the pulled pork giving it a while to slow cook before we leave then do the main bbq out there so its not a 7 hr escapade lol. Courtney said she will call the hotel and ask about it. probably around friday or saturday as she has those days off.

PS i like the schedule... but it seems a little bare for three days.... come on liven it up a bit :P

Where is this edge o dells thingy. And there is a rather large casino just down the road. Um we all could go on the jet boats up there thats always a good time. There are alot of stored in the actual town of wisconsin dells people might wanna go to they sell **** from bongs too maccosins

Any ideas on what to do? I've been there once, and that was last year and it seemd like the town shut down early. We mostly cruised a lot of the time we were there. If anybody wanted to get some runs in, we could probably find a good spot.

Also, price and age restrictions come into play. I didn't include any of the attractions that are included in the hotel.

If you've never been to a gpf meet, the best part of the meet is the part you least remember.

N555 U.S. 12 Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965

They have a designated burnout pit that everyone heads to for some tire popping.
