3.4" vs 3.25" pulley

Iv been reading a lot about supercharger pulleys on the forums but cant decide what the best route is to take. Should i get a 3.4" pulley with new plugs, ubend delete, intake, thermostat, pcm, and down pipe? or should i get a 3.25" pulley with all of the above plus new headers and will that be safe to do?

Read up more on modding before you buy anything.

Sounds like you are going off of what ZZP says for this information.

Exhaust first, then add air. While scanning the whole time.

Isn't the safely modding thread required reading?

if not. it SHOULD BE. this is all addressed in that thread. read, absorb...

...then ignore it anyways like most people...

okay thanks. I will most likely go with a 3.4 and just get headers when i can. after this what should i do besides going with a smaller pulley. what else can i do to gain power?

Headers first. One of the biggest restrictions for these engines is the exhaust manifolds. Need more exhaust out before you can add more in. And for power gain.... it all depends on what you want to do, and how deep your pockets are. Anything outside of 3.4" you are talking cam and so on. So the price to safely and effectively run more mods after 3.4" goes up quickly.

ok ill check out the modding thread. if i got a 3.4" pulley and did all of the supporting mods including headers and an intake what kind of torque/hp gains can be expected?

250 crank hp..... ~200 wheel horse power. And no.... maybe 30-45 additional hp on top of the factory wheel depending on certain factors.

So say ~230whp on the bottom side.

From the factory the Grand Prix GTP (97-03) have 240 Horsepower and 280 FT LBS Torque.

Minus the drivetrain loss and your at 200/250 to the wheels.

Do those mods for a 3.4 setup and you might be 230/280-290 to the wheels.

stock gtp comes with 250 at least.. did u mean 230 additional hp?
nope, i only meant that right now you make about 240 at the crank. maybe. so that means about 190-195 to the wheels.
with a 3.4 pulley and supporting mods, you will make about 230-240 to the wheels. so that means about 280 to the crank.
