• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My Z28!

hey man! good to see someone without a GP joinin up to bull**** with us haha.
clean car, i think palmers shown us some pics before. id like to get a thirdgen maro as well.

Ah damn you beat me :P Nice car btw! My friend has one with a 350 in it. It's an IROC Z. 1987 or 88 something like that. They're pretty cool

i wish i had the 350, when i bought it the paperwork said it was a 350, the 350 TPI and the 305 TPI are close to impossible to distinguish unless u actually go into it, so i got shafted, the place i got it from was just supper sketchy

yeah i meant the truck motor, even if you put good heads and a decent cam it can make good power on a budget build

the way i see it though is that i dont have a time frame, so i felt like an LS1 would be a good base to slowly upgrade, stock its 350 HP thats way more than i have now

99PGPGT, i take very good care of her, wash her every weekend that i can. I even have a bottle of windex and brawny incase a bird takes a **** on her hahhahaa

There are many compromises there.

Such as bore, pistons etc. That's why the LQ9 is preferred to the LQ4 for NA builds. Still not ideal, but better.

Unless you want to spend big money on heads that are ideal for the block. But that defeats the cheap.

Honestly, don't bother trying to make power in a third gen until you've changed basically the entire suspension and braced the chassis in some way. Unless its the cleanest third gen ever. But the mention of rust on fenders pretty much writes that off.

Super budget would be some cheap turbos like a pair of HX35s, a little big, but will be enough for as much power as the short block can handle (6-800 whp). Also a turbo cam. Granted you can fabricate yourself.

An LS1 with heads and cam would still make high 300's, low 400's (again wheel) if you wanted. Not a bad engine to start with at all.

With boost they do fine in the 500's sometimes even 6 and beyond. Some haven't had good luck with piston 7 I believe.

Disclaimer: I'm an LSx noob. Take this comment lightly.

Should say 5.0 on the back of the motor by the distributor
