Re: The Fiero from Hell!

FWI, Ported TB, ported blower with block off plate, polished heads, EGR, EVAP, AC, and PS delete, low mount alternator with 15% underdrive, XP cam with #105 springs and titanium retainers, new stock timing chain and dampener, ZZP shift kit, #60 injectors, drilled 180 tstat... I know I am forgetting something but that is what I can think of off the top of my head, this coming summer I plan on getting a E85 tune.

Re: The Fiero from Hell!

He's not running poly mounts though he's running a solid metal motor mount. Won't the motor being connected to the body cause vibrations in turn causing KR?

What do you suppose the motor is sitting on? It surely can't just be supported by those 2 bars and nothing else. Those bars are just to replace the non-existant dogbones in fieros. That is why he called them torque bars, keep the motor from flopping when he gasses it. Once bolted tightly it shouldn't rattle or cause KR, but I suppose anything is possible.

Re: The Fiero from Hell!

Ok I guess that makes sense. I just didn't know how sensitive the knock sensors are.

Re: The Fiero from Hell!

Unless that is a hefty cam and you just didn't show pics of the headers you plan to put on, that 3.25 is WAYYYYYYY too small.

Nice job on the ports tho, for first time by hand they look pretty good.

Can't wait to see where you go with this. :th_thumbsup-wink:

BTW if you didn't read this, give it a good look over. May help save you some headaches and give direction.

Thanks A Lot, oh and I think I have that "safely modding your 3800" memorized from how many times I have referenced to it! LOL

The motor/trans are mounted to the cradle with all solid mounts, besides the front. It has a rubber core. Fieros did have dog bones, but it was already removed when I got it, and it did not line up with the 3800, plus it looked flimsy as hell! Before I put the solid torque strut in the motor would rock almost 3 inches during WOT, and the alternator pulley would hit the strut tower, now it barely moves maybe 1/2 inch.

Where da headers at?!
Waiting for my Speed Daddy's to arrive!

how come you havent opened the manifolds?
Not sure what your referring to?

Sweet build man.

Whats the full plans with this Fiero?
Make it a fun/fast/daily driver with some weekend track time, hope I dont kill the transmission too soon, and next blackfriday ZZP has get intercooled/ported heads/built trans/smaller pulley.

Re: The Fiero from Hell!

My new OEM Corvette C6 exhaust tips arrived today! Still waiting on many more black friday purchases to arrive...

Re: The Fiero from Hell!

This is the exhaust sound I am hoping to get. Have been unable to get ahold of this Fiero's build sheet...

Re: The Fiero from Hell!

Where did you order the tips from?
They are like new tips that were removed from customers cars that went with aftermarket exhaust systems. Mine had very very minor scrapes on the bottom, nothing you would ever notice. No carbon buildup whatsoever! They were 15% off black friday, now they cost around 70$ I measured the pipe at about 1 3/4 ID inlet and tips about 2.5ID, but the inlet can be cut up into the Y for up to 2.5 pipe, that is what I plan on doing anyways. Also about 8" length as shown.
