Gonna upgrade my subwoofer setup

Right now I have a bad setup, not going to go into too many details.
I realized that I need something better, I miss having my 12" Alpine type R so I decided, I want to get 2 12" Alpine Type-R :D .

My question to all of you, What amp would you suggest? I believe the sub I would be getting is the DVC 4ohm one, so when the voice coils are wired right it should be 2ohm stable subs. I would need a 2 channel amp 2ohm stable that will cover the power of the subs.

I will be most likely getting a box locally from the place I had my head unit installed at, I wanted to get a white box to match my car. Most likely going to be ported.

$$ is an issue, I can't justify spending more than $300 on an amp. I know there are cheaper ones out there, just not too cheap like Lanzar and Pyle lol. Before when I had my single 12" I was running one of the Alpine Vpower amps, but I don't wanna do dual amps.

Thanks :D!

if there 4ohm dvc you can only wire to final load of 1or 4 ohm. keep that in mind when buying an amp. i would try and keep the rms around the rms of the sub. i heard the newer type R's dont stand up to there ratings very well. you could get a re audio dts1000.1, audiopipe apsm 1500. just a few amps in the range your looking for. if you need any install help ill be willing to lend a hand.

Then I meant DVC 2ohm. I would need a 2 channel amp, it probably wont be this years model type r's, havent bought em yet but I don't like the blackface type-r's.

what ohm load you going for? what kind of electrical do you have allready? what kind of wattage you looking for? box type?

Going for a 2ohm load. I don't like 1ohm cause it makes it harder to find a cheaper amp and 4ohm is just too norm.
I've got a 900 watt amp already wired up, so wiring is good to go. I just want something that'll push both type r's a little more than their rms.
I'll probably be getting a dual 12" ported box

dont worry about getting 2 channel, its a a sub setup and usally sound better on mono. besides more mono amps are class d which will run better than the class a/b amps

don't i need a 2channel in order to set up 2 12" subs?? I've always been under the impression one sub each channel. unless its a 4 channel bridged for 2.

no no no, if you want to you can, but either way a sub channel in non directional so you put the left and right rca into and will put the signal together for your mono. trust me youll be fine here.

So i'd be using a mono amp, for two subs, putting both positives into the positive on amp, and both negatives on negative of amp. How does that not turn it into a 1 ohm?

600 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (1,000 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms), 500 watts RMS x 1 at 1 ohm

this dont make scense to me, but if the 2 ohm rating is 1k, it would be a good match for those subs. keeping it safe that is

It was one of the suggested amps when I was adding the 4ohmDVC Type R to my wish list. That amp may have been created for those subs, I noticed the mrp500 gives out 500 watts, which is half of what this amp is.
I'll probably order everything in a week or two, but gotta hit up Custom Sounds to see about a box.

if your gonna pay good money for a box dont go to them, theyll sell you a prefab. look on cl for a box builder to build to specs to get the most out of them. cause you get a prefab cheaper at a best buy

I was wanting their box because of the color option. I don't trust people to build me a box. Plus I know a few ppl up there, thats why I got $50 off the stupid wiring harness lol
