Ok when I first installed my mps with the supporting mods I was only seeing a .1 blip of kr. Now fast forward to three weeks later and I scanned it with my torque app and I'm seeing 4.7 degrees.

Wtf? I Mean what happened?

The only work that has been done it that timespan has been new sway bar links, sway bar bushings and tie rod ends. Also new engine mount. I also noticed something when the mount was being installed. The engine was still slightly tilted backwards a bit. Check the trans mount and that was fine too.

Also I got some Gulf gas yesterday and I scanned this morning so could it b the gas? Station looks kinda cheesy.

I'm starting to think the same but the app has been proven to run on par with other scanners in regards to kr readings.

Sometimes when i fill up somewhere other than my regular shell station i go to i'll get quite a bit more KR than with the shell gas. It's possible it's the gas. Drive it for a while and then fill up at a reputable gas station and see if your KR goes down.

I experience the same problems with gas, some of the stations around here mix the gas and the customer never knows.
 
Well hopefully it's the gas. Also I had to replace the cables to the battery and fuse box. Now that I'm thinking about it the knock sensor is right there where the cable is routed to the starter and transmission. Maybe I moved it? I also changed the top mounts but they weren't flipped. Thoughts? I'm just brainstorming I guess lol

I dynomatted my knock sensors...and also dynomatted the trans case where the motor comes close to it to kill any chances of false knock...

Flip the upper dog bones...could be sway bar contact with the DP from the crapped out mounts...OR, could have been bad gas. When I had the blue car if I ran pump junk 91~ it would get a degree or two...and if I'd go to the BP to snag up 93, it wouldn't knock...evah.
 


Ok it'll try that. Cars been running strong but this knock is worrying me. From a dig I can punch the gas and go full wot without a blip but if I punch it at say 50 it will start showing kr.

I have noticed difference in gas before even from the same gas station, its not as consistant as we would all like it to be.. But just curious, when my car was STOCK I would sometimes see 3-4 degrees of KR so a modified car randomly hitting this number doesnt seem that unusual to me, please correct me if Im wrong
 
when you were STOCK there was a restrictive intake, front manifold and u bend, which all cause KR. in reality you NEEDED to mod these cars to a degree from the factory or they wouldnt run right......too bad no one knew back then (except GM)
 
Let's assume you've been a responsible modder for a second. What does that leave us? Air temperature and moisture differences, elevation change, perhaps a failing spark plug, perhaps something blocking intake filter?
 
Well after a little more digging if found that my ltft's are at 7.6 at wot. Iirc fuel trims should lock in at close to 0 as possible. Think I found my culprit. Real question is why. Why just out the blue?

Now that u Mention temp changes last night I should no knock. Nice and cool outside. This morning? Kr showing up on scan.
