Time for colder plugs?

Serious question time.

I have NGK tr55's now which are 1* colder than stock. With my addition of the ZZP SSIC and the 3.5 should I go to a 2* colder plug maybe even 3, or should I just stick with what I have?

Plugs should be fine.

I'd get down and dirty with the tune and make it rape minivans before you decide to proceed further.

I know that feel. I had an early 90's Astro van pass me the other day. Tune will be soon end of September bill will have this guys. I just have to tell him that lol

How are those things burning?

FYI: TR55 is stock replacement from NGK.

As to where this idea that they are colder than stock came about, I am not sure.

TR6 is the next colder plug, but it is ~2 steps colder if you trust crossing back into autolite land.

Otherwise its one step colder.

I find the TR6s are just warm enough to prevent carbon buildup on the insulator, but not warm enough to burn brown. Might also be the incredibly short periods of time I run the plugs for. Typically 3-8 K miles.

3-8k is three or five months of driving for me. I might pick them up tonight and try them out.

And the idea that they are colder came from the safely modding your 3800 thread. But I need to fact check myself there.
