101000k what type of oil is best for high mileage engine like this. I've been running mobile 1 10w-30 high mileage it seems to be burning 3/4 quart oil every 5000 miles

Oil is oil.

Run whatever you want.

GM will say 1-2 quarts per ~3,000 miles is normal, and you are no where close to that much oil being burned and you go 5,000 miles.

IMO the highmile oil is just re-named regular oil, so they can make more money.
