87 t/a gta 5x4.75 high offset gold mesh rims on a 98 black coupe gtp?

So theres a beautiful t/a in my junk yard, it has the gold mesh style 16inch rims and theyre in superb condition, ive read that they are 5x4.75 high positive offset, ive read mustangs 5x4.5 translates over to 5x114.3 which fits on our cars. Is my logic reasonable in thinking the 4.75 may fit? Will theyre being staggard make things more difficult? And other than that im curious if you guys think these rims will look good and like they belong on that car? Ive attached a picture of my car and a picture of an identical rim. Any info and all oppionions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

the bolt pattern is literally way off.

they are 5x120 wheels which won't even attempt to fit the car.

114.3mm = 4.5"

120mm = 4.75"

Sorry guys meant to embed the photos in the first post but i guess im a dumbass, here ya go

Thank you for a very quick response, your info just saved me like 200 dollars and aloy of frustration. Kind of a bummer though cuz those things are sweeeeeet.

you could always get adapters...but at that point the offset is going to be so super low you're going to be running around looking like a mexi'd out mini truck.

FYI. At +35 offset im already scraping asphault off my rockers/rear bumper and rubbing sleightly. I wouldnt want to imagine more than that.

Yeah i saw that i could get a set of adapters very reasonably priced but i assumed that would push them out past the wheel wells and possibly rub the fender or some kind of steering issue. Although im sure i could make them work, it appears the effort/money will not be worth the payoff. Sorry if this was a redundant post, i saw many posts asking if t/a 5x120's would fit. But when i googled the lug pattern all i found was 5x4.75 and i wondered if maybe since it was a 3rd gen 80's t/a the lug pattern was different from the newer models of t/a. And aside from that if they did fit i would have needed oppinions on how it would look, "as im biased toward anything reminiscant of the 79 bandit trans am" so even if theyre ass ugly and kill the orginality of the gtp i would never realize/accept the fact lol.

Does anyone have an oppinion whether or not i should paint my stock rims? I was considering mostly flat black and maybe the lip red to match the car and my blower paint. Or is that just too much black/red?

bro...you could get those gold crosslace rims.
they came on 1989/1990 grand prixs/ and some other cars. its easier to find the silver crosslace rims (available on the 1988-1996 gp's) and get them painted black.

I neverrrrrr see those rims around here, theres 1 gt in town with the gold ones ans ive never looked very close at them but i think the gp ones arent quite as inset with the big chrome lip, for whatever reason i remember thinking i like the torque stars better.

Thats because the 3rd gen wheels do not have a high offset. The offset is 0 on those wheels. Thats why they have more of a lip.

I dont get the rave about mesh wheels anyways. They look like crap anything smaller then 18s and will take longer to clean than the car. IMOP

Yeah i do like how the bigger wheels fill in more of the wheel well, i have 17's on my grand am and it just eats struts, cv axles, tie rod ends and never manages to hold alignment. But then again,, why blame a nice set of wheels, cuz it is a grand am lol.

I love those crosslace wheels, when I get another third gen (a bird this time) I'm going to get some. To bad they don't come bigger and in our bolt pattern. Just go GP crosslace, next best thing.

try getting those crown victoria meshes. im pretty sure they would fit.

edit: yup, 16x7 +20. seeing how im far from rubbing w/ pregens, those 5mm shouldnt make a difference.

Those actually are really nice, got any idea what years those might be on? Probably newer models like 98 and up im guessing. Never had a reason to check out the ford section at the junk yard till now lol

Those are on the HPP optioned Crown Vics and Grand Marquis (P73 or P74's). They are BBS wheels IIRC. Check out anything from 2000+. 16" wheel I believe.
