My Best Friend known as KR... Need Help

So today I finally got to hook up a scan tool since getting a canned tune last summer from RegalGShocker and darkhorizon. I never had any time because I finished my basic 3.4 build late in the summer and just was too lazy to scan it. I drove fairly easy on it anyways through winter. Yes, stupid to wait so long but but save the flaming for that elsewhere. Anyways, to get to the point I was seeing pretty much 3-4 KR at WOT all the way to about 105mph with timing at 12 degrees after factoring in KR. Am I wrong to assume that maybe no one lowered my timing in the tune? Not factoring in the KR means my WOT timing was 16 degrees which I thought is high on a canned tune 3.4 setup. Also, my AFR was anywhere between 10 to about 11 at WOT. All the stated above was when starting from a 10 mph roll up to 105 mph. Inlet air temp was 68 degrees and fuel trims I believe were showing about +2 to +5%. Also, I saw KR spikes up to 5 or 6 when flooring it at a 50 to 60mph roll.

So anyone have any thoughts? Provide any help? Any tuning someone could provide around really far South-East MI? If you need some more information just ask as I've just been out of the game for a while and rusty on all the information needed to make at least educated guesses at these pesky KR problems.

What are your current mods in this 3.4 build? Need some additional info. I assume you're running at least 91 octane in it, headers, etc...

current mods: DIY FWI, res & u-bend delete, SD headers mated with custom 3in downpipe, 2.5in catback with turbomax muffler, autolite 104s, 180 t-stat, poly mounts, can tune, 3.4 mps
soon to be mods: NIC cam, possibly dna springs

I don't understand though... Plenty of people run headers, intake, larger cat back and a 3.4 and not have many issues after a tune. And I'd love to just throw a cam in it if my funds currently weren't being saved up for a slp loudmouth II and vortech supercharger for the charger :)

Plenty of people =/= You.

lol I clearly get that. So instead of pointing out the obvious I'd like to get some ideas on why and how it can be solved. If its in the tune I'd absolutely be more than willing to drive and meet up with someone fairly close to me.

every car is different, as you know, so thats probably why the canned tune doesnt work so well.
if youre going to install a cam you will have to tune for that as well.
i would throw the cam on first, and then get it tuned by someone.

well currently the funds are not there for the cam sooooo I think I'll be sticking with a basic 3.4 setup and if someone can help tune out the KR and say some modded 1.9 rockers and springs and I should be good?

cam=more flow therefore less KR.

I understand that but if you already have a problem throwing a cam in to fix it is pretty ass backwards.

OP- Is that 3.4 on a Gen III or Gen V? If it's a Gen III you have something not right with the tune or the car.

The only problem he's having right now is to small of a pulley so he's not throwing a cam into "fix" it it's to lower KR. I'm pretty sure you mean gen V not IV.

If he can't run a 3.4 pulley with the mods he has on a Gen III on a low compression motor then there is a problem. Plus the fact he said his LTFTs were at +3 to 5 at WOT so something is off.

He also mentioned that he is seeing 5 to 6* of KR from a 50 roll....Sounds like a torque converter or TCC table not set up right to me. To test this theory, I bet if he disabled TCC lockup until 4th then ran the car again he wouldn't have the KR at a 50 to 60 roll WOT. It also seems like he needs a better MAF tune for sure and possibly has some fueling issues.

I did mean Gen V it was a typo...considering I have one on my car. lol
