Possible Trans Issue Any Ideas

My car is a 2000 Grand Prix GTP 53,000 miles

My trans shifts very firm, And doesnt give me crap, Ive had it for a week or so now.

Today i noticed 1-2-3 shifts perfect than i noticed when going into 4th (overdrive) Its rpms jump maybe 200-300rpms than come down quickly and it locks up and stays locked (this isnt every time just depends on throttle position), It doesnt slip out of overdrive but does jump a few hundred before settling down, With it having super low miles i really cant understand it having a bad tranny?

any help would be appreciated

Better junk it and give it to me :D just playing but if you haven't done a fluid and change do that. Mine was slipping into od when i bought it and now 20K miles later it's still holding up.

Haha and i may be just imagining things, because it drives amazing, But rpms to rise up slightly sometimes going into over drive, But it doesnt come out, So it didnt make sense to me, Trans fluid doesn't smell burnt..Meh idk

In third gear the TCC locks up. You'll notice this is about 200-500 rpm. When going to 4th the TCC unlocks, shifts to 4th then relocks.

Sounds like what you are experiencing. aka normal.

Yea, until he gets code P1870 and the PCM sets the line pressure to max. LOL

Yea thats the next one after P1870 TCC slip 130 to 800 RPM 7 seconds. Ring a bell?

I'm sure I'll see this one again some time in the future.
