how can i make my car sound loud but good?

right now i have stock headers, a cat, no res just pipe and 2 brand new stock mufflers. i just cant have this though its kinda raspy and quite just not what i want at all. i want a good rumble kinda loud mostly badass sound. what combination of resonator or muffler or both will get a sound like this? please no "put a v8 in it" or "lop off the mufflers" i get that enough from the guys around here (im the only one with a V6)
 


put a glass pack in where the res was, its kills the drone and rasp, stock muffler are going to sound, well stock, and quiet.

im all stock, with a glass pack for a res and a new stock muffler, its whisper quiet. and i like it.
 
I have headers into 3 inch into a Flowmaster DBX muffler then I have nothing but 2 1/2 pipe after the Y. Gets a little loud at highr RPM. rumbles at idle.
 
If you cam it it'll have a good rumble to it. But exhaust wise it's kinda hard to make a w body sound good.
 


Its a sideways v6 with non equal length headers, it cant sound good.

Flows and magnaflow will drone and make your ears bleed.

Some say borla sounds good.

Add a cam to the car if you want some lopey goodness.

Otherwise anything else will sound like poo.
 
yeah i dont wanna cam my DD you know? like i was thinking no mufflers just a glasspack or no res and 2 flowmaster super 40's im not sure though i wanna know what out there sounds good! maybe a cutout?

Flowmaster and magnaflows will drone and you will hate your life for it. Unless you want to ride around with ear muffs on all the time.

They only sound good at idle because they have a chambered design.

Pretty much your only options are borla and a some other lower brand I cant think of right now.

if you were to go out and buy a walker replacement res for your car today, it is a glass pack, same damn thing. had one in my hands and handed it back when they told me it was 100 bucks.looks and feels the same inside and out. except it already had the 2 bolt flange on it.
 
I just have a glasspack into the stock mufflers. I want headers so bad, i'm really curious as to what that would sound like. But as it is, it's pretty decent. I'm almost positive i have multiple exhaust leaks so itll sound better when thats all fixed.

I have a magnaflow catback and IMO it sounds awesome. At first the drone was bad but after about a month the pitch set and the drone is mainly gone. It's definitely not everyone's taste tho. My mom hates it cause when I fire the car It rumbles the house =p. I'm going to be getting headers soon and no cat so it might get a bit louder. The main drone tho is at 130 on the highway but if you have the music on just a bit you don't hear it
 
my buddy has a mustang gt 4.6 SOHC with no mufflers just glass packs and some people says it drone i think it sounds awesome
