ZZP 3'' All the way No Cat, No Res. GIVE ME INPUT

Headed out to ZZP on friday and i just wanted to hear some other opinions on exhaust for my gtp. I plan on buying there aluminum 3" exhaust no cat and no res. Which will run me about $370. Im not going to have enough for there tips which are another $120 even though i will have the muffler, should i still get it? I mean how much of a difference in sound will the tips make? Im only gona be tipless for like 2 weeks or so then ill have enough. I just dont want it to sound ****ty like its straight piped. A friend of myn says it will still sound sick since he has something really similar on his GTP except only with tips.
 


Why?

Just buy mufflers and tips, you dont need 3in exhaust.

Chop your cat out and sell it for scrap if you really want too.

I hope you know what will come of it, if you do go catless.
 
tips really dont change the sound much i would just wait till you get the complete set up though first im not sure someone else might be but the heat from your exhaust might melt your bumper with no tips

like he said save your money you dont need 3 inch exhaust all the way back unless your heavily modded
 
So like a 3" downpipe and keep it like 2.25 in the middle to the tips. And by means in heavily modded i mean eventually i wanna get a intercooler and cam for sure so id rather take care of the components in the beginning
 
i mean you dont need 3" all the way through till like super heavy mods, honestly id just go with a 3" down pipe and power log for now depending on how far you wanna go, id keep stock mufflers most 3.8's sound like sh!t with exhaust

not true right now i dont have one i was getting around 18 mpg and now im getting lik 16.5+ mpg scince i put the new dp on unless the catless dp just sucks that bad idk i have a 97 with a 2 1/2" dp

you probably need a tune up. lol. either that or you have a small exhaust leak or something idk
 
I don't have a cat on mine and it gets better gas mileage now. Not having a cat shouldn't effect your gas mileage at all other than in a positive way. 01+ is when they started the the cat diagnositics.

i know i need a tune up lol but what im sayin is it was getting better mpg's before the dp and new exhaust and the old exhaust had rot holes all over its gotta be the o2 emulator that i didnt get from zzp yet, like dan said he gets better mpg's with out the cat as i should to
 
OMFG! the drone from a zzp catback will blow out your ear drums, trust me, ive been in a car with a aluminized 2.5" zzp catback crusing on the highway you will wish you were deaf
