So I done some looking and cant find a good answer, I need a new motor and my dad found a normal 3.8 n/a. What he was told was any 3.8l 97 to 03 sc or n/a will work is this correct? also if the 8th number on the vin is a number one then you can swap out for any 3.8 is this also true? lastly any thing extra required when adding all your s/c parts to a n/a ? thanks!

the easy thing to do is to just get a s/c engine and swap it, but if you cant find one, you can find a N/a block, and top swap you parts to it, heads manifolds, and the whole front of your engines pulleys and parts. but you would also want to add headers to your rebuild to let the engine breath better, being that you at now using a high compression block. and a get the pcm tuned.

i would call 3800 performance and see what they could do for you if their pcms are locked you may have to send it back to them. but i see you are in ohio, so you could be close to a # of people from here who tune. if you have your stock pcm, they could tune that one.

there is a guy selling pulley pullers in the for sale section take a look there. he makes them and sells them at a fair price it seems to me.

heres the link to the puller. http://www.grandprixforums.net/phen...90-supercharger-3800-pulley-puller-42711.html
