Just a Topaz Gold Metallic GTP

Re: Just a Gold GTP

Don't you just feel good when parts arrive. Just got my tail lights from dmahlikGT. Now if my GPF forum sticker from Reflective concepts could get here that would be awesome.

Edit LOL, about 1 hour after I posted this, went to check the mail and there it was, my GPF sticker from Reflective Concepts. Have to say today was a good day.

Re: Just a Gold GTP

Got motivated today, put on the GPF Reflective Concepts sticker (reflective gold). Then painted my front and rear lower bumper. Guess I gotta get inlays now LOL.

The front looks great. Im really becoming a fan of a gold gtp. Maybe next year I will get one. Also what type of paint did you use?

I used the $3 Krylon Gloss Black from walmart, It sprays in a fan pattern like a paint gun better than the $00.99 chit. I had some full cans left over from doing the rims on my last car. I also used a handle adapter that mounts on top of the paint can. I think it turned out ok, it's like a whole new car.

Oh I also painted the mufflers and visible exhaust pipe with some high heat BBQ paint. So you can't see them through the bumper, looks so much better now.

Re: Just a Gold GTP

My honest opinion, I think the red GTP on the grill needs to go. Nothing on your car really matches it. If you wanna keep the GTP badge, make it like a dark grey or something for a subtle touch. That would be alot better. Any who, your paint job looks great!

Thanks, and that will addressed soon, along with the arrow head. I just got done ordering the inlays for the rear bumper. reflective gold FO SHO.

Re: Just a Gold GTP

my whole exhaust used to be black, used header paint, but half had to be stripped to be rewelded, caliper paint is where it's at, drop the catback and spray high gloss black caliper paint, it would look sexy when done

Re: Just a Gold GTP

I think 4 piece aluminium grills would look great on this car. Ive seen another gold gtp which had them on here and I thought it looked great.

When it comes time for exhaust I'm going to do headers, 3in DP, Frozen Boost Fake Cat, glass pack (resonator) and new pipe back to some sort of mufflers with new tips. Sooo the painting I did was just to cover up the eye sore stock pipe haha.

Yup, I had 4 piece grills in my 97 GP GT. Will most likely do the same to this one. I like the 4 piece grill inserts. Unless I find some GPO's

Re: Just a Gold GTP

So....I'm starting my build/ progress thread. Used to own a black 97 GT, had to let it go and hoped to one day get another GP. The chance came along and I got a Gold (don't know the official name) GTP. It is bone stock right now, want to do lots of mods to it. Due to finance reasons I will not be doing any mods for a while. Although I have cleaned it up and scrubbed off the dirty tips.

Its called Topaz Gold Metallic

Welcome to the club and good to see another Gold GP. Really not many around. Its a love/hate color.
I wasnt sold on it at first but now I love it plus since its not very common makes it a bonus.

Car coming along good. Like the black lower facials.
Have you changed the supercharger fluid, pcv valve, fuel filter yet?

Thanks and the color has grown on me. After I did the lower facias, it was like a new car. I'm going to change the SC fluid this week. Fuel filter and PCV have been done.

Re: Just a Gold GTP

So I changed the supercharger oil today with the spray bottle method. Spay Bottle-$01.09 and Oil $23, cheap maintenance. Tell you what everybody was right, that supercharger oil was some foul smelling chit. The only thing that tops it was the goat market in Baghdad, Iraq. They would let the innards sit out in the sun there and it was sickening. I'm not sure, but I was only able to pump out 7 ounces of fluid. I added all 8 ounces though and it filled right up to the bottom of the fill hole. Hope I did it right.

Supplies and tool.

Doing the deed haha

Only 7 ounces? Glad I did this fluid change.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Hello yall, did a lot today including washing the ride and applying this stuff I got from Advance Auto Parts. It's called Black Tire Coat from Turtle Wax. Apparently you put this chit on and your tires stay shinny for 3-4 months. I figure since the parts store gives me Military discount I would go ahead and buy it, since it was only $12. It's kinda cool, shinny as f**K though and I will see if it last 3-4 months. Here are the before and after shots. Oh and this chit is dry to the touch LOL which I think is freaky.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

I saw we were carrying that the other day stocking shelves.. I'm glad to see it works good. What I really wanna see is how long it lasts :p

HAHA, me too or did I just waste $12. Either way I felt like being a test subject today.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Hope it holds up for you. If it does i'll have to pick some up for my car.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

I took the Prix out on a little drive to see how the tire coating held up and also stopped by my favorite place to shoot photos of the car (behind the local movie theater). I would have to say that after I got home the tire coating held up well and still looks great, hope it last 3-4 months. The parts guy told me though if I drive down a dirt road it will kill the coating. I live in suburbia so I don't have to worry about that. I took some pics enjoy.

I like this one the most
