Re: Future Plans For My Car Search (Expanding My Options)

if you can find a GT and GTP for the same price/condition id do for the GTP.

They both rarely have any engine issues unless its from owner neglagence, the only thing to watch is rust/transmission issues.

Re: Future Plans For My Car Search (Expanding My Options)

Well good luck on getting the car you are looking for....I personally would not settle just to plan on making the car as good as a GTP(with the top swap). But you gotta do what you gotta do..

Re: Future Plans For My Car Search (Expanding My Options)

A lot of top swaps arent very reliable. I'd start with a gtp if your looking for reliability

Re: Future Plans For My Car Search (Expanding My Options)

Yup, good luck finding what you want, but when it comes down to truth even a decent used car is going to require some work. When you buy used you are taking on the problems they did not want to fix. So with that being said, find the GTP with the color and options you like. Use the bad points of the car to hagle the price down. Just my .02

Re: Future Plans For My Car Search (Expanding My Options)

I regret getting a GT I wish I would of waited and got a GTP.

Re: Future Plans For My Car Search (Expanding My Options)

I was the same as you when I was looking for my first gtp but everyone I looked at was in rough shape. I stumbled across my gt and it had everything: tint, sunroof, low miles, good suspension, and was in amazing shape so I went ahead and got it. I do sometimes regret not waiting a little longer but hey I have a very realiable, good looking, somewhat fast gt that with an air intake, tune, and new mufflers can gain some hp. Gtp= more money for gas and maintence with the supercharger and im guessing with you being in college you dont have alot of extra cash floating around. Just really think it over.

Re: Future Plans For My Car Search (Expanding My Options)

Is it because it's more work to turbo the GTP then the GT?
