• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Danielle's 99 GT :)

looks good what type of spoiler is that?

It's the SLP Gen 1 or "whale tale".
The only difference between it and yours (the SD) is the outside edge I believe.
Yours is thicker? at the edge, where the Gen 1 is thinner and doesn't have the lip (lack of better/correct words to use).

Thanks. I'm getting anxious to get the car cleaned up and find somewhere to get some better shots.
I got it off Ebay from a guy who bought it a few years ago and never installed it (it was still in primer).
He said it came from SLP.

I should have tried all the holes when I tested it, but I didn't.
You can tell on the one corner that its not tight. I'm hoping with sitting out in the sun some that it will form itself to the lid.
The one hole that doesn't have a screw, even if we did drill it it still wouldn't work because the hole would be way to large.
I'm going to keep an eye on it and if it stays warm and sunny over the weekend, I'll recheck and make sure the 5 are still snug.
I at least got some washers under it so its got some drainage room.

Looking Nice!!

did you use anything underneath it to help it stick down? ie. double sided body tape.. should help it stop flapping.. if you need to open up the hole just use a washer to help.. and Seal all the holes up good.. don't want a pool back there!!!

ya beat me to it.. there i said it before anyone else did lol

yea that might help mine fit good there were 2 extra holes i was suppose to drill but i never did cause i was lazy but i didn't really need them be careful because i know some aftermarket spoilers leak mine did but its an easy fix if you take out a screw one at a time and put some RTV (silicon) around it, and screw it back in and tighten it up while its still wet to form, thats what i did and it worked well.

Hahaha.
The only thing underneath is some rubber hose washers around the holes for spacing.
I was in a hurry and wanted the spoiler on and wasn't expecting the PITA install.
I'll let it form better and maybe sometime next few months I'll take it off and put some tape there to help that corner.
If we opened up that hole more, it would have turned into like a 3/4" hole and we didn't wanna risk it. It's like half there and half not, close enough you can't get the screw started without cross threading the heck out of everything.
I was so mad at it. How can one person hold such anger against a piece of fiberglass? lol

I will have to try that when I take it off.
I've got some blue RTV and regular clear silicone to use.
I thought about doing it tonight when we started running into issues, but didn't.

When you tape it down you can use some on the back middle edge (closest to the bumper if that makes sense) to hold it close down BUT MAKE SURE YOU DONT GO ALL THE WAY ACROSS because after you wash your car you will open your trunk five hours later and the water will come out and leave streaks. I learned the hard way. lol

yeah, when i did mine on my 99 i used a bunch of 2" pieces, and rubber washers to keep it up off the lid., this way there was drainage holes

I'll get some when I do that job.
Is it just double sided tape at a auto place?
Guy that painted it asked if I needed any and I said I didn't think so.
I guess I could just stop by there and ask him on Monday if I can use some.

Looks amazing. Even if it only has 5 screws :P

Definitely got me wanting one for mine now... grrr

Thanks!
Scott (silvaman61) has the similar SD on his silver prix if you want an idea. Keep an eye out for one cheap, I got lucky and found mine on eBay.
