Is there something you can monitor to make sure the PCM tune is good??

I'm new to the forum and new to tuning. I got a PCM tuned by ZZP, from what I hear that maybe was a mistake. But what I would like to know is if there is something on can watch on DATA list at certain RPM such as timing advance, map or maf (cant remember which it has), etc. I have a 3.6 pulley, intake, 104 plugs and 180 thermo. Any info would be a great help and much appreciated.

I'm using my shops obd scan tool. Has a pretty extensive data list. As far as KR, can you point me in the right direction of what I want to see? e.g. whats a reasonable amount at high rpm, are there certain areas where it can be expected to be high? Like I said, I'm new to tuning but I have been working for a dealer for quite some time. I know my way around daig'in problems but not tuning. As far as exhaust, headers are on the way, on step at a time.

I have a couple suggestions...
First, ZZP tunes are junk.
Second, your mods are not doing anything for you... There's no reason to be running those cold plugs or a pulley smaller than stock with your "supporting" mods.
Third, you should monitor AFR with a wideband o2, spark and KR.

Okay, good to know. And I've taken the advise and just ordered the Aeroforce gauge. Tired to go without but I can see not only is it that popular but it is also worth the investment. Thanks

.

In your mind, what kind of mods should I be looking at doing? Just want to be on the right track

To answer for flake, you want headers, put 605 plugs in. And just scan. And who Is doing your tuning? Do you have dhp or hpt? I'm guessing not

No, I dont have any tuning software myself. I have a zzp tune, I know, death to my car from what I hear. I have been email with will from overkill on getting a new tune. Headers are on the way and I'll look into the 605 plugs. This is my daily, I'm not looking to make the top 10 or anything but I would like to gain some HP safely. And thank you again, to everyone here. New to this and every new idea helps.

OK good. I thank you for actually taking what we say respectfully and understand. Most new comers turn into complete ass hats when we explain faults at hand. Keep in close touch with will, he's a great guy and knows his stuff. Maybe you'll be lucky and live close to a member on here that is experienced in tuning.

starting off... aeroforce is the single best mod you can buy for your car IMHO... so good job there...

before you get into modding too far you need to ask yourself 2 (main) questions..

1.what is your ultimate goal with your car?
2.how much are you wanting to spend?

figure that out and we can help ya alot more...

Haha, okay, overkill it will be. And thank you for the thread, I gave that a good read through and I'm going in the right direction from what I read. My end all be all goal is a decent street car, not the quickest GTP out there but something fun enough for me. I've got around 1g more to kind put here and there on the car and I'm only looking to invest in the engine and trans as needed. Rather stay away from doing anything to the trans if I can.

The ZZP PCM is fine.

I honestly wouldnt worry about anything. Check to see if you have an excessive amount of knock then go from there... Getting a new tune will not fix mechanical problems.

I ran a ZZP PCM as well for 2+ years with no problem. Once you get the Aeroforce gauge in scan for KR and see what youve got. No point in blowing that much more money on something you already have. You could be spending it on other parts. Once you get further into modding you will need to get another tune anyways. Scan, get some more mods, and get yourself a custom tune IMO.
