Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

B&M Shifters?

As a note, I do not think the "perf shift" idea would work.
Reason being is when you shift up from low 1 to low 2, you're not shifting into 2nd gear, you're just unlocking 2nd gear allowing the car to shift into second once it reaches it's shift point. Essentially it would just never shift. Stock it already does what it sounds like you want it to do. If you leave the car in low 1 it wont shift to low 2 until it's in both low 2 or higher, and hit whatever RPM it shifts at. So you could essentially red-line it and then toss it into low 2, etc etc.

But that's all a really ****ing stupid idea on an auto. That's why tap-shift was invented, but tap-shift also sucks donkey cock.
Get a manual or do a manual conversion. Or just leave the car in drive.

when you move the manual lever the gear range switch tells the PCM what postion the shifter is in

so the PCM will see the the shifter is in the 2 postion and then shift it to 2 if you have the MPH range set up correctly like minimum 1mph to 140mph put that for all gears. i would actualy allow low 1 to still shift to at least second to pervent a seriuse **** up by an idiot

this would also be an interesting way to rig up a second gear start if you do not care about perf shift like me. i just set up the base trans like pef shift and never even touch it so for me it's a useless button and i am trying to make a use for it lol

looking at the trans table it is set up with a diffrent normal mode and perfomance mode for every thing so this is actualy varry pluasable to do

if i even end up with a tuner i may try it worst case senario i will eff up the 99 not like ti can get any worse then it all ready is lol car is about 1 foot in the grave and about parts car status

Like I said, it's just for fun and won't cost me much of anything besides my time.

@boostedcompg: You didn't give any of the technical details, though. You just opened your big mouth and gave your ****ty opinion.

these shiftier really do jack for a cars like ours. like mater said i think, they were made for full manual valve body trans, where you had to shift it, with this type of shiftier you wont skip a gear, neutral, or hit reverse.

my brother had a B and M in his chevelle, he also had a th400 build by B and M, with a full manual valve body, and a 3200 stall, and yes 12 second car. this puppy used to break the tires at 30 mph, and chirp 2nd and 3 rd with out even getting on it, just slap it and it chirped every time. also had a 600 + hp 462 BBC, cost 7,000 in parts just for the engine. (in 1988)

It's not going to do much, no, but just for fun it's something nice to have and I think it looks a lot better than the stock shifter anyway. I'll probably also be able to secure the shifter for next to nothing, as well. So there's that.

for looks it will be cool, some of them are a lot of work to operate tho, some you need to pull a lever then pull the whole handle up, then ratchet it back. some are smother than others for sure.

do a write up, id like to see how it all turns out.

All you have to do is pull up for the quicksilver, which is what I think I'm going to go with.

He let Sam Kinison drive it. Cool.

I'm already lightly snickering at the thought, and a bit more when the thought of a reverse manual VB was brought up for a 4T65, but If I saw a Pro-Ratchet or Bandit in a Grand Prix, I'd absolutely soil myself laughing.

Good. I'll be having fun, and all you'll have is soiled pants.

that would be my brother lol, he still has hair down to his ass to this day, friggin hippy! every few years he chops it to the shoulder and donate's it to a cancer charity.
