2006 g6 gt is a 3.5l with 200hp, same as 06+ impala's,
g6 gt is 3.9l with 240 hp, or if its a convertable 227hp cause more restrictive exhaust systems(so i read with quick search on google) and i see 3:69 gear ratio!!?
some more reading says 2009 3.5l got 220hp..? change something? and 3:29 gear ratio
im gonna race me one on these grocery getters with my grocery getter one day!

The G6 GT has the 3.5 with the 6 speed select shift trans. Base with the V6 option only has a 4 speed. I owned a 09 V6 and it wasn't slow, but its hard to believe a GP, even a N/A couldn't smoke one. My friend has a 00 GTP like mine, and when I had my G6 he pulled car lengths on me with no problem.

Oh just to clear things up. The 3.5 in 05 originally had 223, then in 07 when they added VVT and changed something with the exhaust due to regulations, they lost 4 hp. My 09 was rated at 219. The 3.9 was only avaliable in the GTP and the GT convertables. In the sedan and coupe the 3.9 put out 240hp while in the convertable it was 227.

Apparently you've never had a stock GTP run a 3.6 DOHC VVT car. It'd be a close race down low till they hit the highway and I'd bet money on it the G6 would start pulling.

Apparently I HAVE driven both cars stock (07 and 09 G6 GT's and several stock GP GTP's) and there is no comparison, especially down low. It would be a better race for a stock N/A GP GT. A stock GP GTP makes around 270-280 torque at the wheels. That 3.5 liter (not 3.6) VVT V6 is FAR cry from that. Hell even the G6 GTP's struggle to get into the high 14's stock. Most are 15's. And they need nitrous to run mid-high 13's.

at the wheels eh?

Don't sleep on those 3.6's in the GXP G6. Those things are pretty quick. I do have to agree about down low on the 3.5's. It was a dog untill about 4000 rpms and even then it was no race horse. Funny thing is that it would smoke the tires with no problem lol.
