Need BBV Help!

So I bought a 97 gtp off craigslist for $600 with a "blown" tranny for a swap into a fiero. Turned out the guy never changed the fluid, now the trans works great. Now its going to be my winter driver. Anyway the previous owner put on a 3.2 pulley with no supporting mods whatsoever. I know its BAD and I don't want to blow this thing up. Its going to be at least a week or two before I can get a custom 3.8 pulley made for a DUB system. Is there a way to force the BBV to stay open so the car basically runs NA until I get the new pully? Thanks

Couple weeks for a custom pulley? You can order one and have it shipped by then.

Take the belt off, and you'll have no boost, but you'll still have to baby the hell out of it. The best thing you could do is not drive it at all.

Yeah taking the belt off would probably do it. I want to order a pulley but DUB (south florida pullies) only lists the 3.4 as the largest pulley they offer and all the other modular pullies I look at dont seem to work with the DUB 4 prong hub

if you take the bottom hose off the bbv and put a bolt in it to block it off it will only go half boost that should keep it prob around 6 psi or 8 with a 3.2 pulley at full throttle :) just have to bypass the computer control valve also if you take that hose off it will kill the speed limiter in D only least it does on my 2000 gtp but it 3rd it only goes 105 and hits the limiter

The stock limiter in the gtp's is 126 iirc

When you say bypass the computer control valve, you mean run the bbv off vacuum alone?

Noo. However that does work so the PCM does not pull boost. But deleting that , the turbo waste gate solenoid code needs to be disable. But that wont accomplish what your trying to do

What you want to do is keep it open so you don't build high levels of boost

What he is saying is disc the bbv all together and plug that vacuum line

I say zip tie the arm. Fix your problem. Cut zip tie. The end
