• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

A very peculiar situation...

jerZcavy4120

honda owner.
So i was under the car changing these:

(to think... i was driving around with tie rods that bad lol)

And...
my car ate coolant again.

Now last time, it put the same amount of coolant it ate, back, about 3 weeks later.
but that time the entire motor was DRY as a bone.
This time has the same symptoms as the first occurrence, except the bottom of the motor is covered in muck (oil, grease, and MAYBE coolant) all in different spots.
i checked around the heads and they seem fine for the most part..
I did a compression test in mid-November, and came up with consistent readings on all cylinders.

For those of you that don't know i did my LIM's and all upper gaskets in Late April and haven't had any problems since. I've also bled the shht out of the coolant system, so there isn't any air in the system (to my knowledge.)

The Car isn't performing any differently than it normally does. It will reek of coolant sometimes, but when i pop the hood to try and figure out why and how its doing it, the smell completely disappears and the whole top and sides of the engine are totally DRY.

Now...
The 1st time the car did this, i was just as worried as I am now up until the time when it returned the coolant into the resivour and went back to 'normal'

So...
should i just brush this off as nothing, again...
or should i try and figure out what is causing this odd phenomena...

I shot this video when i was under the car doing the tie rods, its sort of cruddy and doesn't truly depict of how much it was wet under there, but to me it most definitely looks like there is something leaking... (Oil level is fine, and if the coolant gets put back again, then i'm clueless lmaoo)
But i hope this might help..

now im sure you know what a grease gun looks like and how to work one so that the new tie rods dont fall apart too.

cant see jack on the leak vid.

yea i definitely learned now about the grease fittings lol

but yea, i'm at a standstill with this car right now...

like what the eff 'causes this and how do i make it stop?!

If the car is not overheating I would suspect a small pinhole leak in a hose that only leaks under pressure, ie when the car is warm and running.

You must hate your heater core

heat still cranks, i left it in for 2 or 3 months, then did a flush and swapped to green, all's been good, dry lim bolts too.

stuff makes your coolant look like its got gold glitter floating in it, this was the copper stuff not the black tar pellets.
