i finally got the title to a grand prix i bought that had a blown charger on it its a 97 gtp series 2 and i wanted to know some common gtp problems to check out when i give it a once over and replace belts hoses fluids that sort of thing i'm hoping you guys can give me a list of all the issues to watch for any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Change the lower intake manifold gasket while you are doing your supercharger it's only a few extra bolts.

ok i'll get on that gasket it seems fine i've gone through it and changed oil, flushed coolant and refilled no tranny issues new fluids there i just gotta put the supercharger on it i actually drove it home with the belt pulled from the s/c and it ran fine i only paid 600 for the car and its kinda beat up cosmetically but the engine is solid and i can fix the cosmetic crap but i'm new to supercharging so any help on that front will be great too

What makes you think the sc is bad? Most likely it's just the coupler in the snout. If so it's a cheap and easy fix.

Put a belt on it and see what it sounds like

If it rattles at idle maby the coupler. Easy way to check is just pull the belt off and try and turn the pulley back and forth if it seems sloppy then its the coupler. Takes about 25-30 min to fix if you have never done it b4.

not on a 97. it would take alot longer than that

i'll try both on wednesday i wont have time tomorrow i got my talon back today tho new clutch and its quick as hell but its gonna be put away as soon as i get the prix fixed up and i pray my wifes equinox gets fixed soon so i can start to tweak the gtp and get it where i want it and run the piss out of it but anyways i'll update you guys as soon as i try it

update i spun the pulley on the charger and it seems a little sloppy to me like it rotates a quarter inch before actually engaging anything i dont know if that means anything but i need to put a belt on it and see what happens but i wanna know what are the risks if i try that?

No risks....it'll just sound like a bunch of rocks tumbling around in there. Idealistically, there should be no play. Replace the coupler. Its cheap and easy, especially if its off the car.

well i blew the high pressure line for my p/s and now i'm fixing that in the midst of rain and stuff but anyways i def. tried the s/c and its doesnt sound good so i'll pull it off asap and fix it if i get any free time of course
