• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Finished changing my dad's clutch in his truck. Had a guy at autozone try to trade me his mid 80's monte for my gtp lol, I declined.

damn right you did! lol

cars made in the 80's suck for sure. well most of them do/did. bad decade for engines too.

Ordered some valvebody and channel plate gaskets for my GTP so I can get it driving again. Have to pull everything out of the transmission to replace the final drive ring gear that the diff sits in due to some chipped teeth. It keeps chewing up planetaries on the diff. Haven't driven it in almost a year because of this.

I'd rock an 80's Monte SS any day. So much better than any Monte made after that.

i'd take a 70 Monte before a 80's Monte any day, with a BIG BLOCK! THAT CARS TO HEAVY FOR A 350 TO BE ANY REAL GOOD, UNLESS ITS BUILT TO GO TO 9,000 RPM'S. NOW THAT'S A CAR!

Actually the Japanese supercars of the early 90's changed that. Vettes were tired of being beat by V6's and rotaries.

Traded it in for a supercharged 5.4:

73-96 were bad years for motors to much emissions **** and not enough go fast. 1997 changed that :)

the gas crisis of the 70's ended fast cars, for a long time, and emissions f'ed us too. and it stopped auto racing for a while too.

the late 60's was the real end of big bad muscle cars as we like to call them.

it wasn't till the late 90's that more hp was made by computer tuning the cars, redesigned engines and keeping emissions down to the standards in place. smaller engines today make as much if not way more power than the 60's or 70's, cui to cui that is side by side comparison of the same or close to cui.

a stock 350 in the early 70's only made like 200 hp, look at our 3800 engines we are making that and more today with 2 cly less and better mileage.

take a 74 vega 4 banger, really i mean take it, lol it was a dog, look at a honda 4 banger today, its got more power than the old gm 4 cly ever did. and runs better and longer.

They put SC'd 5.4s in Cobalts?! Dayum, thats gotta be a fast MoFo......

Jk.....nice looking truck there :th_thumbsup-wink:
