Hmmm... gonna have to consider this as a winter project, gonna need something to do. I'll have to look at some of the small headlight retros on hidplanet to get some ideas.
 


I wanted to post some pictures of my retro that Eric did for me.
in my personal opinion the shrouds look real good.
I'M using 6000k bulb and switchbacks for the corners

Had to go to the store 3:30 am here's a 2.0 mp bb pic and my car is on a slope with headlights pointing up so that's why the pattern looks to go up. Morimoto low beams 5000k and the house to the right is a good 20-30ft from the road to the right and an easy 50-60ft from where my car is sitting. Beams go just as far to the left also but had my phone aimed towards the house on the right......

You need to invest in a new camera. Like meow. Just a 100 dollar kodak like mine would be fine...it's like 7.something megapixels

Yeah I know my mom has a 14mp cam I could go get but I'm not that worried about it. Just went for a late night drive threw the phone out the window and snapped it. I have a mortgage, wife and son to take care and my bills are minimum $3000 a month actually more than that to keep this household running. I don't go out and blow money on things I dont HAVE to have.........

You need to purchase a set of retro's and I'll go buy you a new camera with your money!:th_thumb-up:
 
Hey i'm getting there. At least I have a job now. :D But KCGP is gonna cost quite a bit. Maybe by winter time we'll have some ubher nice headlights on my car. I wonder how purple shrouds would look in a black capsule.

I think flat black capsules with flat black shrouds and a purple front trim ring like the red and black shrouds I did would look phenominal on your car... even though painting the shrouds like that is a pita :D

or a purple painted cutoff shield, so the lens looks purple.
 


That would be awesome. It would look like purple eyes!!!!!! But it wouldn't cause the light output to turn purple would it? Cuz I want a nice bright white with no other color ....like 4300-5000K But where would I find paint that can withstand that temp? I mean the cutoff shield is like right next to the bulb

Engine paint. I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that engine parts get a lot hotter than your lights are going to get. 4300, 5000, 6000k whatever, that's color temperature. If it were actually that hot your car would probably just straight melt.

no it doesn't affect the output at all.
