Thoughts on mods

1997 GT ( Yes I know the transmission sucks)

Just wanted to hear opinions on the mods I'm planning to do in the near future. I don't want to go the top swap or turbo route because I'm about to start college. So I am going to keep it N/A. Got to have it as my daily driver.

Mods already on Car:
Wizair CAI
ZZP 2.5" DP
ZZP 2.5" Catback Exhaust
ZZP 1.0 PCM ( I need a better tune)

Mods Planned:
HV3 Insert
Front Plog
Ported TB
Bigger Injectors (I'm thinking maybe L67 or Bosch 24# 890)
And either GT1 Cam or ER rockers

Any opinions or harsh dream breaking criticisms are welcome :D Or if I have mods listed that aren't really necessary let me know. The more money I save the better.

Leave it be, finish school then mod whatever you want to mod. Modding is a poor investment, you will never get back what you paid for. The mod bug is a disease to your wallet and time. Unless you're on a full scholarship. Then do all of your list

I'm not paying for much of it. Some books. And I've got a job and plan to get more hours. So hopefully it works out to where I can slap the mods on it. That or try and get a GTP

The injectors are a waste for those mods. Just do headers (for less money then the dp and plog and more gain) then do the rockers. Be a decent little gt, still reliable. Then sell and get a gtp after school

With a GTP transmission you will need a GTP passenger axle as well...since they have the HD Diff, it shortens up that side quite a bit.

But then you're stuck with a used car in unknown condition.

People who wanna go fast will need rebuilds at this point considering most of these vehicles are climbing up in miles.

If you're talking new platform as in new car, I'd reccommend a 2011 5.0 Coyote. :D

I've heard that they can be a real beast with a bolt-on Whipple.

Sure...until the transmission assplodes all over the place when you hammer through the gears a couple times.

Sounds good to me.
