• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Crazy Taz and his wire tuck.

You don't have that much room under the edge of the bumper cover. Although..w/o the washer jug.. you may.

Want me to see about fabbing one up when Max has his bumper cover off next week?

FML!
Was almost finished went to connect the battery cable to the starter... and the f**king stud broke right the F**k off like it wasn't even connected I didn't even have it on there tight at all so now my car will basiclly sit and rot because I can't afford a starter. This whole thing was just a stupid Idea...

you may be able to just buy and replace the solenoid on the starter. i seem to remember it only cost 20 or 30 bucks, not a hard swap either, if these starters are serviceable that is. i would think you could tho.

your in ohio! find a local and get one used cheap. i got an alternator from local a buddy for $20 before. dont give up hope!

yes starters are the same for GT and GTP

you could run some tubbing from a battery box to that vent in the trunk. you definitely dont want the gas to build up then step on your brakes and have a bulb blow in the 3rd brake light and have it ignite the trunk. i hope youve at least tied the battery down in the trunk.

putting it on the passenger side is better for weight distribution.

I'm pretty sure I have one laying here too.

BTW, only other time I saw one break was when my friend Rachael was cleaning her battery cables to fix a P0171 code. She was under the car and then we heard a "oh ****!". Being that she breaks so many things..we all had an idea. $20 for a soleniod and it was all set.

I drove north an hour and 15 mins to pick one up for dsmuts around midnight. Just shows you how close this group is. So thanks again Dan for the starter. Now how does this thing go on...

so replaceing the starter on these cars is like a 6 min job could probablly be done in like a min and a half by bill...

so heres some pics can you tell which one came off my car and which one came of the dirty parts car?

I'm still cleaning on the replacement one a little bit It's actually cleaning up pretty well that 1/2 inch of sludge and oil gunk on there must have preserved it lol. I should have taken a picture when I started cleaning it but dsmuts will know what I'm talking about lol

You might want to hang on to the old starter ... with a new solenoid and some internal cleaning, it might be good as new.

(I haven't taken this particular model apart, but I cleaned and regreased a Ford starter recently ... it was easy as pie and it cranks over fast now.)
