Need some Help bad. Transmission on 98 in houston,tx

I'm located in Houston, TX. I have a 98 GTP with 180,000 miles use to run great till tranny finally went out. Bought one from junk yard for 160.00 out of 99 and it only lasted a month. Plugs were the same. I want to rebuilt my orginal but right. don't really race alot but until you get a rice burner or a show off asking for it well you under stand. I use the car mostly only for work and back. wish it had maybe a higher gear for better gas mileage. What's an average price?

First off,what side of Houston? Second,What are yer goals with the car?
 
I'm in North east Houston by Race track off lake houston parkway. I use it for work wish it had a high gear but i like to race once in a blue moon

Oh ok i'm in Sugarland/Stafford area . I'm running a TEP trasmission and could'nt be.happier. I've been hearing good things about Tim Kings trans as well. But idk anybody local who can rebuild one. Trans shops in Houston are hit and miss just like most other automotive shops you know? If you want to get one not local ,the two mentioned above would be yer best bet,but localy idk. I'll ask around this week for you though.:) Between myself and a friend of mine we may have a low mileage trans thats in good shape. I'll check on everything for you bro.
 
I have a rebuilt stock one with stock 2:93 to 1 ratio with hardened 4th gear splines, metal channel plate gaskets and borg warner epc solenoid(pcs). $895 plus $175 shipping. torque converter not included.
Were out of rockford il area and I specialize in the 4t65e hd trans.
