Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

Whoa!, thats a lot of pics, looks good, wish I could figure out how to inlay the pontiac on my back light gray bumper with a dark color. :(

Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

Nice posing infront of new construction or what lol

And is that a SE badge turned to SC cuz I love it!

Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

It is black vinyl on the trunk, I'm not totally excited about it, but the fools that repainted the car didn't remove the badge.. sooo.. yea that had to go on to cover up. Otherwise it woulda been just the same badges but in black. What can you do though..

But yes. It is an "SE" badge turned into a "SC" badge. Kinda nice how that worked out haha.

We (my family) just moved into that house. Everything has be renovated, that's why the yard is a mess. The inside is beautiful though.

Inlays are still silver and black, the reflection from the flash turns them gold I guess, but it does look pretty cool in gold too.. hmm

Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

Get some grass ya lazy bastard lol

Im liking the trunk idea, not digging the 38sc thing

Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

Why can I still see a "grand prix" ghost in that black stripe?

I like it. Ive thought about doing the same thing before kinda.

Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

Yes but I would assume that putting vinyl over it would cover that up?

Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

There was literally a step in the paint, I sanded smooth, but when applied the vinyl, I guess it wasn't.. idk man, really was frustrated with the trunk lid that day.

Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

The car was repainted when I got it. I was not the one to order this shiesty paint job. This is how I received the car. Better believe I'd raise hell if I received a paint job like that.

Re: Dr.Pepper (A lot of new pictures + New Trunk Badges)

well damn then.. get a sander and go to town, prime, then re apply vinyl, maybe bigger?

From working with a friend that owns/runs a vinyl shop I can say with certainty. This is a common misconception about vinyl. It will NOT cover up spots, scratches, un-smooth areas, or any other defects in the paint.
You probably sanded to where it felt smooth with your hands but I have seen small scratches in paint show up more after being vinyl-ed that just bare paint. It provides nice accents and will last a long time if you use good quality stuff, but it will show up any defects you have. Gotta get that decklid prepped for painting before you lay down another sheet.

EDIT: BTW gorgeous home, grats, and car looks very clean, you just need better wheels ;)
