that's cool and all, but when you see hundreds of dumb people that think their stock v6 mustang is the coolest car on the road, the few actual fast ones just seem irrelevant to me.

...and i can say this because my first car was a v6 mustang, and i HATED every minute of driving that car. btw, it wasn't my choice, my dad bought it for me in HS, and it spent more time sitting in the driveway broken down than it did running...

I'm not going to insult your GP's, because frankly, I like them. I think they're great cars. Low 13's and high 12's aren't retardedly fast...11's are the new 13's.

13's were cool back in 2001.

Also...I've had a run in with a couple 5.0's...driver mod or not...they didn't want any after a car+ from a 50/60 roll.

Give me a new Boss 302...or a Laguna Seca model.

How about you take a look at the LS1 Camaro that has more than 50 horsepower less 10 years ago on slicks and went only a few tenths slower...too bad Ford is behind on the curve there.

Now, I'm not dogging the Coyote before 'Poke reams me a new one...is it a good platform? Sure. I'm not saying it can't MAKE good numbers and post legit times. I'm saying that there is how many videos of it going well into the 12's stock? Maybe a couple. How many stock LSx cars were cracking 12's off stock...? Exactly. Plenty.

maybe it's just my locale, but i see 2-5 gp's a day. and i see a hundred mustangs. and honestly, i don't know anyone that thinks they're "cool" because they have a stock GP. it's all the people that have stock v6's that get me. once again, it could just be my location, but it pisses me off. to each his own, i'm not knocking your mustang...i'm sure it's awesome so don't take it personally. i don't like them, and no one will ever change my mind about that. sorry for the thread jack, i'll just keep my opinions to myself next time :)

No no, I'm not saying don't give your opinion. Things would be boring everybody kept it to themselves. I just gave mine, nothing wrong with a little heated debate. My car had little to do with my rant, just mustangs in general. Apologies, my rant came off a little more abrasive then normal.

true lsx car pull the same time but the new mustang can do it and get a ****load better gas mileage doing it. and the reason their is a tons of lsx vidoes cracking 12's stock is cause they have 10 + years to make these vids, new 5.0 only been out a year or so.

Given were in a Green stage of fuel efficiency, and its been 10 yrs to make close to the same power and performance, they aren't a $hitload better on fuel efficiency. They crank out about the same, slightly better than my buddies 02 SS does highway and city driving and his is 10 yrs old, with bolt-ons.

Granted I do love the new look of the mustangs, and the Camaro's to me are just meh... I guess I just see them all the time and Im kinda sick of them, the new mustangs, not so much. But they have come along way to get where they are. Credit is definitely due to them, but in my eyes, they took a decade to do it... need to really push the envelope to make up on ground. They came along way to seem to match the new ones, and most are just happy to out do the last generation :th_laugh-lol2:

I dunno, maybe its just me, but Im kind of tired of hearing the same old argument about which is better the Mustang or Camaros... its always back and forth and the argument never seems to change lol

yeah because I didn't notice that....:rolleyes: Give me ONE f-body that has ran a 12.12 bone stock on slicks.

Besides all that not very many BONE STOCK LS1 f-bodies ran 12's stock, they were out there but not common at all. I'm not going to argue this fact so believe what you want. And as for the new mustang, yeah 12.7 is the motortrend book time. I mean if the car magazine guys can hit a 12.7 it shouldn't be too hard for a good driver to do at least that.
 


Ford...I remember back in the day Motor Trend had to use the Roush Mustang vs the stock Camaro SS. I don't hate Stangs but these toolsheds that throw a cat back on and ebay altezzas and romp up and down the highway ruin it for everyone. A 150ish HP OHV 3.8L in a sports car....lol.

I think you took what I said the wrong way, I was just playing around. Not for cereal AT ALL with that last post. The "had I purchased a grand prix" comment was not directed to anybody here, just me being a sarcastic asshole. Ask blue, I'm good at it. I'm sure you've heard about the rapture that didn't happen, thought that would be obvious I was playing around. I don't have a problem with you at all man, like I said before, I have no problem with heated debates.

Most knowledgeable people see a mustang, GT, or even a Cobra, and know that unless it has a decent amount of work into it, its slow. The same thing with GP's. I'm not trying to say anything contrary to that. And I do realize that typically, you'll see more toolbag mustang owners then GP owners. I just don't believe that to be a direct correlation to what they drive. Mustangs are cheap, and to allot young fools, it's a cool car that is/looks fast, and will pull them plenty of snatch on the weekends. Sadly, they are mistaken. If grand prixs were thought of amoung young people in the same manner, things would be no different. I was just defending my platform, wouldn't you? Truth be told, there aren't to many mustang guys like me,(i.e. is realistic about what they own, and respects other people's cars regardless of make) but they're are more then I think some of you guys would like to admit. For example, recently a GP guy came onto to one of the mustang forums talking about buying a GT for a DD. He was a lil bit rude about things as you can see. He got a mixed reaction, and it's note worthy to say that more then a few of the guys that replied are V6 owners(known to be the worst of all mustang owners). I wonder, if a mustang guy came here, and said the same thing, would he get treated the same way?
