Gas Prices!!!

OK OK OK you guys make me sick...

I pay.... Are you ready for this.... $1.47/Liter here in Calgary for 91oct.
I also pay $1.33/liter for 87oct.

Multiply taht by teh conversion and I am paying over $5.00 a gallon.:th_angry2:

I just saw at one of our Chevron stations in South County 87 was at $3.99 a gallon. I guess we will be seeing $5 a gallon really soon at this rate :(

Looking forward to my last fill up tomorrow before my 45 mile commute. I start my 15 mile commute Monday. Woo hoo, I can give the car a bit more gas now!

Well I am happy to say gas prices have been holding sorta steady. I paid $4.18 at Shell today. It seems to hoving around that $4 - $4.25 mark for the past month. It's NOT great, but at least it is not $5 a gallon YET!

Hey Syn. Have you seen that one Popular Mechanics magazine that talked about our Oil Reserves in the US? Its simply quite amazing. Its a good read if you have not seen it yet. And they go indepth into the Deep See drilling too. Rather facinating stuff!

Just thought I would see if you have seen it or not?

That was a part of the article yes. But they had another couple pages on the new Deep Sea oil drilling platforms as well. That was a really neat read too. But yes that is part of the article. It only goes to show how our own Government is preventing us from being more self realiable. All because we have to spotted beaver (that was meant in extreme sarcasism) or other sort of wildlife no one will ever see.

Obviously none of the finds now will help us in the near future, but if they got them up and running and producing the reserves and supplying our own market with US pumped oil, we could see a reduction in costs. Though it might be slight, but it cant be any worse than what we are facing currently.

What I love is certain states (Florida) will not allow off shore drilling in their waters, saying that it would hurt tourism as people come to see the water, how much tourism is there when no one can buy gas? Not to mention they don't put those things on the beach, I can see 1 off the coast of Alabama with binoculars when at the southernmost point on an island that is hugely popular for fishing

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but "our own Government" was voted in BY US. When's the last time you wrote to your Representative or Senator, or when did you last vote? I know from you posts you are old enough to do so. I may be wrong, maybe you do. And I'll eat crow if you say so.

Hey, do you like breathing fresh air and drinking clean water? "Our own Government" passed laws to require how clean it is. Do you like getting your car, driving on the road, and mostly having people follow the rules. Guess who decided to build those roads and keep them fairly well maintained? That's right, our own government.

It's convinent to use that as excuse when things don't go your way. But when's the last time you said to someone, "I'm glad our government does this!"

Sorry if I'm singling you out GeddyLee, but I dislike people who would rather blame the government that do something about it.
