read this text aloud today... 5 speed fail

i was sitting in engines class today, and as class was about to start i recieved a text message saying roughly:

"so a friend of mine let his girlfriend drive his car. she was doing highway speed and for some reason dropped the transmission from 5th to 1st"

i've never heard a entire classroom groan and laugh in unison, and then of course the question: WTF was she thinking?

apparently, she knew how to drive a stick shift because she was really good at the racing game at dave and busters.

upon getting the shop, the car obviously woudn't start. the transmission was toast, and i was told that the cylinder head was either cracked or the head gasket was toast because the motor was hydrolocked. i asked what kind of car, and it's some sort of suzuki. my response was total it out, and i got "no, he just got it, he wants it fixed." i then asked if he at least dumped the girl - "no, they've been dating for like 3 months, and she offered to pay for half of it". I said i would break up with her for sure and was told i was heartless and an evil person. i thought i was sane.

Lol, I was changing the oil in a girls civic turbo for her. She had no idea what she was driving, I got all of a quart and a half of oil out of it.
