Well last night I installed a 3.3 pulley... never had the problem before this.....

already installed mods
PCM
Headers
Flow master 3 inch cat back
k&n
spark plugs less then a month
voltage booster

I get a ses light that blinks when it happens

This is basically in a nutshell what happened in your motor when you rolled into boost...

Do you have a scan gauge or anything to monitor whats happening? You may want to pull your plugs and check them. When mine did that I found this beauty.

Whoa!!! way to small of a pulley. These cars knock in stock form. I wouldn't be surprized if u exploded piston #3

Thats what happens when you have high boost, high RPM's and not enough fuel.

Now only that but I managed to essentially melt the compression rings.

That was on a 93 TSi I once had.

i can roll into the boost without a problem just when i smash the pedal is when it hesitates... i checked vaccum lines and the plugs looked fine but going to replace them and wires... and possibly coil packs... no one seems to have a straight answer i been looking on various forums... i don't have a scanner...

Straight answer, your knockin like a mormon missionary. You don't have the mods to run that pully. Its going to blow up. Put a bigger pulley on and then sort your issue before you do more damage. Then read the thread about safetly modding you 3800 that I'm sure some one will link

Yes we have a clear answer your running way to small of a pulley without being able to scan... I wouldn't run anything lower than stock without a way to scan the car for knock.....we are trying to help you not chip a bank of pistons....I've been around the GPbworld for 10 years now, I think I've seen my share of blown motors

Not to thread jack, had me Rollin with the Mormon missionary comment.....

In short, you're mis-firing under boost which means one of two things..... Too much boost is blowing out the spark, so you're either running the wrong plugs or to big a gap. Based on your mods you MAYBE have the ability to run a 3.4 pulley. And that's a stretch since you don't have a scanner.

^ This....if you're modded, you gotta have a way to monitor whats going on. Gauges arent for looks (unless you're a ricer) they have a purpose, and also the reason they cost a few bucks.

just cause you dont like the answer doesnt mean we didnt give you one. trust me you'll like it a ton more then a chipped piston

x2. My AL104's gapped .055" suffered from spark blowout anywhere above 8 psi when I was running an intercooled 3.4" setup with headers.

What did you gap your plugs at?

I don't have a problem with the answer when it's stated clearly and not with a bunch of (how could you ask that question like your all high and mighty and never made a mistake...) I was under the impression that this forum was for asking question to answer you didn't know and that people would give answer in a respectful manor...... heaven forbid i make a mistake and need some help... I would show you guy respect if you posted on a computer support forum...
