I live within 10 minutes of ZZP and have a 01 GTP so i was hoping to buy a pcm thru them but all i see on here is people saying dont buy it...

Whats wrong with their pcm?
What should i get instead?

don't just tell me don't but it... ive seen that enough on here. I want some real advice
THANKS

Advice?

I had 5 of them. Everytime they mailed me one...I plugged in the next "fixed" one and each one was in stuck in programming mode. I'm not the only person here to lose a motor to a ZZP PCM either. Other's have had great luck. Like I saids in your other thread...since your so close...just have them dyno tune it.

did they replace them for you when they were stuck in programming mode? i wouldn't think you would keep buying after problems. What are the advantages of dyno tuning over pcm?
really appreciate your help!

Dyno tune is for you car, a can tune is a basic tune. say I have A 97 and a 99 GTP with the same can tune, one is going to act different to that tune then the other.

Yes...they kept saying there was no issue and it was my fault...figure since its SO difficult to unplug and plug back in a PCM...I had so much to do with the tuning side of it. I only bought the PCM once...they kept replacing them. Dyno tuning is custom tailoring for your car...since every car is different...it would be a wise investment...my advice...Get a 3.4", headers, a 180* T-Stat, Autolite 104's...then drive it up there easy, not getting into the throttle and have them tune it.

how much for headers? do i need headers if im not planning on modding further?

Speed daddys off ebay.. and you'll want them if you want a 3.4.. they're just cheaper than buying the sepearate exhaust parts (eg: plog, downpipe)

Like stated above Dyno tune is a much better tune for the individual car. Never ran a zzp tune so I can't comment on that. But depending on how much you're looking to spend on a tune and if you don't mind a drive, I highly suggest dynotune motorsports in Columbus Ohio. Seen him tune ton's of 3800's as well as many high power V8's and other cars and always does a great job.

Also. did you get my response to the message you left me?

Really bad customer service!!!Turbo tim is an a$$hole.

He's terrible, and he did an AWFUL job on my tune for the SS M90 kit (ZZP's OWN KIT!). I lost respect for ZZP. Intense did a really good job for a canned tune to get me by (until I tuned it myself). It ran rich at WOT (better than lean), but around 14.7- 15.3 at cruise. I was actualy very pleased how well of a job he did, for never ever seeing my car.

Before ZZP had a dyno, I bought a canned PCM from Intense and it made me slower at the drag strip (slower by .2 seconds consistently). Once I had ZZP's PCM, I dropped that same .2 and dropped another .3 seconds and have never had any problems.

Since they got their dyno, they've dyno tuned my Monte 3 times and they've always done a good job with it. I will be going back to them this winter too (gonna try to go over 350whp :D).

My experience with them is good. The customer service is usually too brief, but it's always prompt. Like already mentioned, do the mods first, then go to ZZP and have them dyno tune it for you especially since you only live 10 minutes from them.

Many people claim to have blown an engine with the ZZP PCMs. Many claim the tune was just fine. It worked fine for me.

Dyno tune will make a big difference over an emailed one.
