• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

New pictures of my '06 SSlobalt, sweet, right?

What year STi?

The 09+ WRX's are apparently doing about 290-300hp at the crank and they are no slouch

they have the VF43 turbo just like the STI does, so they take to mods very well. with a tune they can be to the STI power level.

however, youre still missing the nice 6 speed and a few other nifty things that STIs come with.

Anything 04 or newer (I don't think the STi trim existed before 04 anyhow?) up probably a 2006, just because my price range is going to be ~$18,000.

I'd also consider a 03+ Evo if I can't find a scooby. I really just want something AWD and turbo. A lot of the cobalt guys give 04-05 STi's a run for their money with basic mods, but I don't care. No 4 cylinder sounds as good as a subaru boxer motor. They're more reliable and have a better overall fit and finish than my cobalt does.

i called it. go sti man, 06-07, sexy sexy sexy time :th_biggrin2:

Haha yeah. I've wanted a STi ever since the first time I saw one, never thought I'd be able to afford one anytime soon though. I have no money, but I have car a car and a bike worth some decent coin to show for it so maybe I'll be able to make things happen. If not, the cobalt will be modded to the point that it's fast enough that no one cares if it's a fancy cavalier.

It's not bad at all. The tensioner just screws into the block, take the valve cover off, set it, put the vc back on and you're good to go. It's just that I don't have the money to fix it right now, I got laid off from the motorcycle dealership so cash is really tight. I've been putting applications in for jobs since it happened but I haven't gotten anything yet.

Actually the first STi's were made in 1992 just fyi....And the Cobalt looks good do you detail for a living?

Beautiful car (but can't stand the wings they put on those)! I actually like the wheels on those, too.

I agree with you the wings on the SS's look gayyyy imo, and I've always liked the SS/SC wheels but I like the TC wheels a lot more. I want a SS/TC really bad I drove one at work the other day with a tune and exhaust not sure exactly what all was done on it but damn it was quick looked good in white with gunmetal wheels

I used to detail people's cars for money, then I started working full time at a motorcycle dealership as a sales assistant. Business slowed down at the bike shop so I moved out of sales and started working in service as a reconditioning guy. I went over all the used bikes and quads we took in on trade or bought, detailed them, changed out anything that needed replaced and changed the oil. I got laid off about a month ago unfortunately. I may go back to detailing, but right now I just need a job so I'll take what I can get. I'm a full time student also so finding a job that will work with my schedule is difficult.

The TC wheels are nicer IMO. The TC brakes are bigger, brembos up front and 11.something vented rotors in the rear vs 10.something solid rotors on the sc. Some day I'll be swapping to TC brakes and then I'll need TC wheels because the SS wheels don't clear the brembo calipers. As for the spoiler, I hated it when I first got the car, but it has grown on me. I still consider getting a low-rise to replace it with but for now I'm not doing anything more since I don't even know if I'm keeping the car.

SOOOOO Downright SEXY!
