Engine mount question

goldgp

Grocery Getter x2
Ok, so i have this vibration at about 60-70 only when i accelerate. The vibration goes away when i coast in neutral. My CV axels are 1 year old, my hubs are new, and the car has just been aligned. Could worn motor mounts(upper or lower) be the culprit? (tires are new falkens that are balanced) Any feedback would be great, thanx

lower mounts might cause this, but normally it is an axle problem. assuming those are actually good since they are new, i would think the mounts would be next.

Hate to revive an old thread but I'm having the same problem. Did the lower mount fix the vibration for you and how did you get access to the mount? Ya ya.. I'm a noob.

Gotta jack it up...yank off the tire and probably the plastic flashing that covers the balancer. You'll wanna loosen the 15mm nuts under it and on top of it...(so 4 in total)...then jack up the transmission with either a special trans jack (if you have one) or center a decent 2x4 on your jack and ease it up on the trans pan till you notice the engine has moved enough to remove that mount. If they are factory, look for gunk and fluid build up...kinda like CV grease. The factory ones are fluid filled and crack and leak all the hydraulic fluid out and basically become a pile of rubber pieces...aka...trash. You can get solid rubber non-fluid filled replacements from AutoZone on the cheap...and you'll never have to worry about them again.
