Stock intake tube?

Can the stock intake tube be used with a K&N filter on the end? I bought the 1foot intake tube from ZZP along with a filter but this tube is kind of a p.o.s.... If not then I gotta run to autozone and get 2 coupler reducers..

you can, but its stupid considering the stock corrugated tubing is the restrictive part, not the air box.

Or...put a little rubber adapter on the end of the TB...cut a hole in it for the sensor and bolt the TB to the adapter...so...its more like a extended open cone.

Well I have a 4" 1foot long tube, and a 4" filter... what couplers should I get to attach it to the throttle body and the tube to the filter?

Sorry for stupid questions I'm new to all of this

I would say this:

ZZ Performance

I think you also needed to select the "add aluminum ring" option when you ordered the tube, i believe it's for the filter side. Maybe they can ship you only that.

I used 4" dryer tube and some pvc pieces... it's ugly but works.

Yeah looks like I need to find a way to get that aluminum ring or make my own or something...

Kinda sucks I wanted this thing installed today

Just put it directly to the TB as everybody says, it's practically the same and put the tube in once you get the rest of the pieces.

It's not like you're gonna gain 30 hp out of it. Do it for the SC whine hehe.

Yeah thats the main reason I want it... the whine, but doesnt the sensor have to be placed inside the air duct? And isnt it really hot right on my TB?

it won't affect to have the IAT outside. It is more hot right at the TB, but you get more flow. It won't harm the filter either. There's a sticky which i suppose you've already seen in this same section about open cone vs. fenderwell intakes.

Alright thanks a lot everyone I guess I'm just gonna attach it straight to my TB till I get the other things I need

That's an old discussion here and the sticky thread pretty much sums it up. It's always the Open cone VS. cold air intake argument.

check that thread out. it has some dyno info with both type of setups.

I've read it.. lots of people have Open Cone but its not attached directly to the throttle body they have a tube/hose so its not so close to the TB..

Low end torque the only reason???

you can run it without an intake and not mess up your motor. put a cone on the throttle body, or run a piece of tubing closer to the fender. it doesnt matter so long as you dont have bends in it that arent necessary.
