Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Any ideas? before fixing other things, Would i have to reset the codes or the computer to erase the code that's making the light pop up? if so how? i left my battery unhooked for a good half hour and the lights are still there.. any ideas?

No, you don't have to reset the code. It will clear when the problem is fixed. Did you forget to plug in the new hub by any chance? I did that once. Fortunately, you can reach it without taking the wheel back off. Did you get the abs code read to see what it says. Could be one of the other 3 hubs is bad, a bad abs module or a broken wire somewhere.

how would one scan the abs system? I think you can use a tech 2 but I'm not sure. Any other ways?

A mechanic friend of mine uses a Snap-On scanner that will read the codes. I don't know for sure any others, but I bet somebody else makes a scanner that can read the abs codes.

with my luck they'll want to charge me just to scan it. To bad hptuners doesn't, I guess I'll have to just bug my buddy to borrow the tech 2 from his work.

The abs is in the bcm only techII's can read bcm codes. My friend works at a chevy dealership so i never pay for the tech II scans. Anyways one day my abs light came on and we scanned it. It showed left front was the problem. We replaced the hub and the light still stayed on.

We then were sure it was in the wiring. If you follow the wiring from the abs sensor to the bcm you'll find a midpoint harness/plug. We seperated the plug and with the help of a multimeter we found the plug was bad. We had to cut out the plug and replace it with a new one.

Well I guess I will just have to start listing scanners that will.
tech-II thats a given
snapon modis
snapon ethois
snapon solus
snapon red brick
hptuners
otc genisys
napa genisys
those are the ones that I have used before.

also the Actron cp9449 reads abs codes, and can be had for less then $150 brand new on ebay

HPT will report the DTC for the speed sensor issue. That's if it's the right car/year.

HPT reports for 2000 Regal and most W bodies 97+, but will not for the 1997/1999 Bonneville.
