Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

So i went to the track tonight. Didnt do too bad i guess.

Hey, I just picked up this car not too long ago. I haven't done much to it. Came from a Cobalt SS S/C to this and i didnt think it would be worth modding. As always i did a couple things. I saw what a pulley did to the cobalt and wanted to try to make it quicker without a pulley.

Times were 15.12 @ 92.9 MPH with a 2.210 60'

Needless to say i was kinda down on my times. I didnt spin much so theres no excues for my 60' besides lack of power. Temp was about 85* and rather humid. It got faster as the night went on, and got a lil colder outside.

Should i go with a smaller pulley? Haha! Thanks!

With practice I bet you could really get those times down. I know someone that took a bone stock 2000 gtp to a 14.66 on street tires. Granted that was on a cool night with a low D/A basically at sea level. Get some practice in and I'll bet you could see 14's all night.

That 60' is definitely not too hot. Getting that alone reduced would reap some nice benefits. What about replacing your torque converter for one with a higher stall?

you need some exhaust work before you can drop pulleys.

edit: i see you have a downpipe, how big? hopefully its a 3" or youre missing out. if this is the case then your next step is either headers or rockers. if you really want the car to gain some power, id suggest a cam or intercooler.

Yeah im sure i can get it down a bit. The main deal was the temp im sure. I went around the box and loaded up on the brakes so i left on about 3krpm. Didnt spin, just didnt go anywhere. Felt like i bogged a lil bit. I went with Perf shift on and was shifting at 6250.

its 2.5 from zzp. I would of went with 3 but i didnt see it doing much with stock manifolds and catback.

well, you made the wrong decision since the downpipe is the most restrictive part of the car. now the most restrictive part is your motor. i would say switch it for a 3", but you'd be pissing away money at this point. your next step is what i listed there.

the catback (stock) is good for ~300whp which you are very far from.

Yeah i hear ya. Yeah i knew that, ill never make 300whp, this is just the dd. Just want to see some 14.5s out of it.

i went to a track last night too with my recent top swap on my monte carlo...i ran a 14.4 at 98.8 with street tires on it but all i did was literally spin...my 60 ft time was a 2.7...it sucked!! and when i went to go run again they had just shut the gate so i only got one run in...it was my first time ever on a strip as well so i guess i cant be too mad seeings how some trans ams were running the same times as me and a 2011 mustang 5.0 with 100 miles on it only ran a 14.2...i wasnt too impressed by him but i just need to get some f*ckin traction out there!!

if you knew anything about motors you'd know you have to beat on it to break it in properly. anyone who babies it for the first few thousand miles is an idiot.

i agree 100% i built a 331 stroker for my 93 gt and and have beat the S*** out of it sence day one. after i got 20k miles on it i tore down the motor and everything looked great. slapped in some new rings for the heck of it and new aluminum heads and have been beating on it sence then.

the guy that had the car said its under warranty so he didnt give a **** what happened to it!! he had just bought it 2 days ago as well!! good lookin car...just wasnt too impressed with it but maybe he didnt get a good launch or something on it!!

u need headers speed daddy or ssac DO NOT BUY OBX HEADERS they require u to mod them to fit but if u put headers on u could run 3.6 pully anything smaller will require a cam or rockers
