LIM gasket!

I have been leaking externally for awhile and it seems the time has come to take this job upon myself. I have no questions about the job itself just wondering what else I should do while I have everything broken down. It is a 1998 Gtp with about 120k (no mods atm). I am not currently getting any "ticks" from the valve train, but while I'm in there would it be worthwhile to change lifters, springs, etc? Basically should I:

a) Ain't broke, don't fix it:th_yawning:
b) Replace all wearable parts that are accessed while top end is open.:th_thumbsup-wink:

Planned mods are:
FWI
Pcm
3.5 (maybe 3.4) pulley
Headers

If that makes any difference in your suggestions.
Thanks!

Only thing i would say on this is what ever you do remember to get the replacement supercharger gasket and the yellow o ring and some rtv for the side gaskets.

x2 also you might want to port your supercharger while its off just dont go overboard and if you do lifters replace with ls7 lifter it is a oe replacement comp cams lifters suck DO NOT BUY THEM THEY WILL BREAK there is a know defect with them

If it aint beroke, don't fix it!!!!!
And don't do the pulley unless you open the top piston ring gaps at least .015.

what? why? this is such a random off the wall statement it's not even funny. you know how many people went all the way down to sub 3.0 pulleys without opening up the ring gap? a metric **** ton.

yes, the gap is too tight from the factory, but that doesn't mean you need to open it up in order to run more boost. what you just said is completely and 100% false information.

Also.... Get the 04+ LIM Gasket!!

Yes and no.

Yes, get the aluminum gaskets, but no not 04. 04 still used plastic. 05 started aluminum.

Splitting hairs, but they know what youre talking about at the dealer when you say aluminum LIM gaskets. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Thanks so much for the info guys :) I actually am switching out the S/C coupler while its off as well, though it seems the sound eminates more from the tensioner. I am just chaulkin that up to the play in the S/C pulley. And thanks Nascartech, that would have been the brand i would have went with if I decided to do lifters.

ya just stick with a oe replacement

It's like trying to help a trapped animal, even though your trying to help it, it cannot understand that what you are doing is trying to help it and it keeps trying to fight you off and away.

How much it cost to replace LIM Gaskets? I wonder if my mech will know what I'm talking about, and what kind of universal coolant is good to use in GPRix?

Probably be around $400-600.
so is LIM the short term word or it means what..?? so when I talk to my mech, just tell him to replace my LIM Gaskets?? Thx Okay so LIM must stand for Lower Intake Manifold, right, just talk to my mech and he said what, he didn't know, so is that right? Lower Intake Manifold??
