• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

As some of you may or may not know, i have been repairing/repainting my car for some time now. doing it ghetto style in a driveway.
well this weekend the weather co-operated and i was able to fix the clear coat issue i had 2 weeks ago.

Thats right, i wont even let a little thing like having to spend 2 hrs in the ER this morning becuase i somehow messed up my ankle, slow me down!!!

I will take some more pics of it probably tomorrow as i ran out of light re assembling it.
gotta buff the paint etc still, but im really really happy considering the location i had to work with!!! oh, that and its my first time ever doing this kinda work!

Little wet sanding, and buffing and you got a new paint job! I've painted 3 cars in my backyard and after all the wetsanding, they all turned out good.

Nice!

how is it for small specks of "sh*t" for lack of a better word for it?

also, looks like it layed in a your average GM quality paint job so you just did what GM does, congrats.

Could be smoother but I'm not sure if thats the colour or the clear that seems to set like that. Almost reminds me of mild cellulite.

STILL LOOKS GOOD.

its almost free of stuff in the clear, and since i sanded it down i got rid of the wood chips from the roof lol that was a ***** of a situation..

yeah, just gotta wetsand and buff/wax then it will be clear as hell, the orange peel will be gone.

and its stock paint colour, but i did a few extra coats to darken it up.
3 stage process - epoxy primer, base, clear. legit ;)

More I look at my damn red car the more Im hoping to paint it this fall. Looking to paint gun metal grey metallic like my 04 envoy. Nice job on the car, need some wet sanding and buffing and youll be set. Pics of it after buff!

that looks awesome. congrats for sticking with the metallic green. best color that came on these cars.

I'm sorry I've give you kudos for doing it yourself, but for all those that say it looks great, etc, etc... How can you say it looks great when you get a reflection like this?

If you come back after wet sand and buff with a better finish, I'll be the first in line to say you did a great job, but until then...

all depends on how the camera was setup but i hear what you're saying.

Take a look at the paint of any of the new camaro's. they're not that good, havnt seen a moden GM with good paint period.

Even a simple point and shoot will show if it's a good finish, like I said though, if after a wet sand/buff another picture is taken and the finish is better I'll say for where it was done, etc... I'll be the first to say it looks great...

And I'll not expecting a mirror finish, but I'm hoping to see alot less orange peal...

well, i spent the day sanding and buffing and waxing.. its definatly shinier, however it is a ghetto job lol

pics to follow once im not exhausted
