03-04 cobras were pretty decent for power
i vote ls2 gto.
why 03???? and i thought cobras were slow????
depends how big is your money pit. and depends what you want. saying 'which car to buy and mod' doesnt help at all - everyone likes different ****.
u said a newish muscle car? mustangs have the biggest aftermarket so far. id look at the 03-04 cobras, the coyote mustangs that are about to come out and anything with a vette engine for that matter.
japanese? id say stick with a subbie - great community and great aftermarket. evo's tend to have problems after you hit the magic 100k miles - i know a few people with evo 8's and 9's. other than that, i guess you can mod a honda... but please dont lol.
european? BMW's have great aftermarket assortment, solid cars. great engines too.
hell, diesel truck maybe? long life and they can be fast as hell.
So you've stated money is not an issue, why are you entertaining options like a nearly 10 year old Cobra, newer GTO, etc?
If you truly have bundles of money you need to think bigger, unless that is, money really may be an issue when analyzed further.
It sounds like you need to purchase a nice home and then think about a project car. Just my 2 cents from someone who graduated about 12 years ago.
nissan 240sx + rb26 = magic.
a guy here down at my school has a black one and he swapped the engine in it to something more powerful and threw a turbo on it. supposedly it hits low 12's. wasn't really impressed with its looks (was old and paint was crappy) i geuss if he found a body kit and gave it a new paint job. but i would probably pass. not alot of people know about that type of car.
i agree with VD, but if your pockets really are endless then shoot for an audi RS4. those cars are BALLER.
Just a personal preference here, but if I ever have the money to truly build something......it's going to be old school muscle.
I just love true hot rods :th_thumbsup-wink:
he prolly put the sr20 in it. those only have like 200ish hp from the start but its a really common swap
