Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

How many miles are you getting out of your 3.8 NA?

About to roll 250K on my 2000 GT. It has been a good car, but oil is starting to leak a bit. Need a qrt within 3-5k, but that's time for a change, so no big need there.

Car is all original as far as the drive train and bone stock. Just wondering what others are getting out of theirs?

Time to replace Motor mount, front struts and assembly. Replaced 2 wheel bearings within the last 10k. Fuel gauge is shot now and the low oil sendor is as well, but those are easy fixes especially with the help on this site. All in all it runs good still and doesn't ask for much.

I am use to the 3.8 with a SC, but built by Ford not GM. Shooting for 500k with this one.

~128 000 KM

so ~79 500 mi

Bought it at 121 000 km (75 000 km), been a great car for those short 7000 KM.

Went on a 20 hour round trip. Never missed a beat at 75 MPH.

barely related but, my dad got just over 100K on his 1978 3.8 in a 3/4 ton pickup with 4.56 gears. obviously didn't come in the truck stock. truck did a considerable amount of hauling.

I know, thats like a first gen 3.8, but I figured the fact it was in a 5,000lb vehicle with 4.56 gears without OD and still made 100K was impressive :)

I believe the poor thing died from an oil pump failure, I was young at the time but I seem to remember him saying something about it wore into the timing cover and dropped pressure. This was in 1987 and I was 7 at the time, so I could be 100% wrong on what caused the failure.

a GEN II or GEN III engine i'd think should make 250-300K if treated properly.

I have 23K on my 06 GP, so I don't really count in this discussion yet :)

i'm getting close to 140,000. i bought the car at i believe 127,000 and the previous two owners had put almost no maintenance into it whatsoever. the car made it to 136ish on factory everything. i finally got spark plugs and wires changed, looking to do fluid flushes this summer. one of the O2 sensors got changed, mainly because i couldn't get the one after the cat out and my problem went away after the first one and MAF. the stock air filter was on it until i bought the car. the thing runs like an absolute dream, only time i was thinking i wasn't going to make it home was when the second MAF messed up on my way home from school one night. i'd take it anywhere right now, no worries

im at 180k right now. car runs great as of now *knock on wood*. im changin the serp belt tomorrow, cuz mine is shot, and then next weekend im doin an oil change, and a tune up. these engines are pretty much as close to bulletproof as you can get, so it should run a lot longer :th_winking:

i got an 04 with 175,000. runs like a top. getting seafoamed this weekend. it was a business car. drove from northern Indiana to some place in florida. 5 days a week. the trannys startn to act up but its done its job for 175000. cant complain. my parents had a '99 GP SE that ran to 250,000 when the trans went out. it also ran like a top and was also a business car from the same company.

that's really high for an 04 lol. how do you drive from indiana to florida that much?
There's quite a few 04-06s already up there in miles..
Go to one of the sites that have a ton of cars listsed on them, and select 2004+ grand prix, and order cheapest..
You can get 04 GTPs for like $4k, but they already have 150k+ miles on them.. Saw an 05 with 212k.

mine just turned 160k.......... has its little flaws but nothing major, bought it for 1000 with 152k on it in october. put about 400$ since then, soooooo im happy:) only thing thats bugging me, tranny startin to slip in 2nd sometimes, but nothing major, getting a new tranny in the summer:D :th_thumbsup-wink:

00 Gt 221,000. Orig. owner, Synthetic oil since new, no leaks, does not use a drop of oil, replaced trans. at 188,000,strutsat 200,000, will be out soon for l67 swap

just it 180k need a new hub, the check engine light is on, and it used up more gas lately... but other then that shes a runnin

Well, on my 02 GP I turned like 98K without any major issues at all. And so far I have 46K on my 08 GP, and not one issue to speak of.:) In fact, the only design flaw I’ve noticed is the lack of tinted windows which is being correct next week.

My '01 GP/GT has 129XXX mi and runs like a top! I am the original owner. Only mods is the 180 t-stat & FWI on the engine. Synthetic every 5k miles has been doing it.:th_peaceout:
