Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Post up pics of your first car, or any of your previous vehicles, and put a little story with it. I'll start.

1995 Monte Carlo 3.1 w/3400 Top Swap, straight piped, seats out of a 2002 Monte. My very first/favorite car that i miss dearly. :th_crying2:

Sold that and bought this, a wortless piece of crap 1998 FireTURD convertible. This car has a long story with it, it was posessed. I HATED it. The people I bought it from, bought it back from the guy I sold it to. (if that makes sense?)

Here is my 1977 Avanti that I bought when I was 16. Rebuilt the engine and tranny, reworked suspension, drove it for awhile. Now just waiting on time to get it painted and start on the interior. So it sits....

I have had a lot of cars. All with stories.

The best times are people trying to figure out what kind of car the Avanti was. Or trying to get the insurance company to understand the VIN is just 7 digits long.

I wish you would of kept the gp, and got it back in good condition

id rather buy one that is stock and then put my signature back on it. the car really had its quirks from when i bought it already modded from someone else. besides, i want a regal as my next one and im going to go against all rules that were all established by the top guys (**** headers and intercoolers).

what size engines came in them? That's an awesome looking car.

apparently a 350

The original 63-64 Studebakers used the Studebaker 289.

After Studebaker went out and Avanti became it's own company, they used Chevrolet Corvette engines. Early ones used 327s, then 400s, then 350s, then in the early 80s they switched to 305HO from the camaro.

Mine, being a 1977, has a 350 chevy engine with a TH350 tranny.

That's an awesome looking car.

Thanks....

Here is a picture of my dad's 84. This was at the national meet in Lancaster, PA last year. It's not a show car by a long shot. He drives it all the time. He had it on the field, but didn't get it judged. Overall, a sweet car though.
