What really annoys me

What annoys me is that it seems that every time I take my car to get something done whoever is working on it happens to get the interior dirty in some shape or form. When I went to the shop to get the oil changed I had a filter and oil with me for them to use and when I left the shop there was a fairly noticeable spot of oil/grease on the seat that stained it and when I looked closer there was pieces of hardened oil on the seat. When I went to clean the car today I used an armor-all to go wipe on it. It isn't near as noticeable now, but I'm sure there are still pieces of it in the seat and some oil/grease still there. What would you do in this situation? If I had noticed it right soon after it was done at the shop I may have taken it back because my neighbor is the service manager and has helped me out with a bunch of things.

I would go back and make them take your car to get detailed. I work in a shop, I do not get in a car unless I put a floor mat down wash my hands and have a coat on and when we do oil changes it gets vacuumed out windows washed and dash wiped down.

^ Yes. My interior is cloth.
^^ The dealer I took it to doesn't do any of that. The dealer we take our Accord to washes every car that comes into the shop. My car hasn't been washed since I got it due to winter setting in within a week of buying it and it being too cold. Just have wiped it off and cleaned the interior numerous times. Will get it washed when it is warm enough that it doesn't freeze right on.

I'm in the same boat, lineups at the touchless's are too long. Who wants to wait an hour for a carwash?

Yeah. I find the touchless car washes don't clean as well as I can by hand either. I took the Sunfire to a touchless wash and the front bumper still had spots on it that I could wash off with a mitt.

This is why every car i work on gets a quick wipe down and vacuum
Had a guy a year ago say i damaged his paint because i only cleaned off the area where i was working dude was a douche and huge headache to a few local mechanics

after that i just figure it into my time and give every car a quick wash and vacuum

along with this, it bugs me when they move my seat. grrrr

I got chewed out at school for this i moved the seat im 6'1 the owner was 5'2 I forgot to return the seat forward and she raised hell she went as far as bringing my group doughnuts and telling them i couldnt have any In her defense she was older than dirt but still geez

Wow, I would have laughed in her face. :th_jester:

Its one thing if its just a slide, its a whole different ball game when you've got a 6 or 8 way motor powered seat...

Still not the end of the world though.

its annoying but damn

Get a small metal wire brush, just a little bit larger than a tooth brush. Put some laquer thinner in a windex bottle. Select the sprayer to "mist". Spray a decent amount of laquer on the grease spot and scrub hard with the brush. It will remove the grease. Just allow the laquer to air dry. If there is still some darkness from the grease, spray on some more laquer and wipe hard with a microfiber towel. Stain gone.

wow @ letting someone change ur oil, good way to get drain plug rounded off, crossthreaded or broken... 10 minutes flat with no jacking up involved to change my oil.

Wouldn't be surprised if some places used an impact to put the drain plugs back in.:th_shakinghead1:
