ok, for a stock 3800 to be "knocking" it would blow up right? How many stock 3800's have you heard of or seen blown up? None right? If you go back to the old days where they check spark plugs instead of some stupid computer that's how they knew. I checked my plugs, which were perfect. Turned the sensors off and trapped 4mph higher...? What the? Yep, it's pulling spark even thought it does need to? Why? Because it's not real? Could that be?!?!?! OMG!!!! Wowowowowowow!!!!!!
And for the other guy asking how it's tuned, uhhhh i turned off the knock sensors... which would be considering altering the stock tune... wow, took a mad scientist to figure that one out.

I asked a fair question and I don't think I was being unreasonable. I will wait for an answer :th_question1:
I'm curious as to why you leave the offensive material yet hand out infractions... :th_yawning:
As for on topic, i have heard GM knock sensors are about as reliable as their CPS's.
I misread the post that guy made hence my "offensive post". He changed his knock sensors... Not removed/disabled them.
Unless I am mistaken with that understanding in which case, lets feed him to the dogs. :th_thumbsup-wink:
ugh, you people kill me. I'm sorry, you guys are so mis-informed.

OK...............take it down a notch.:th_shakinghead1:
That right there proves you are a fool. Knocking/pinging is not going to destroy an engine. Excessive amounts of it for an extended period will. "Back to the old days" as you put it, you would roll the distributor forward (bump timing) until you got pinging, then step it back a touch. So which is it?
You can't blow up a stock 3800, it's false "knock" as in, it's not real, you're a fool to think it's real. You have no clue what you're talking about, you have no experience, you have no knowledge, you have nothing. Just stop posting.

mine sure is toast... stock pulley.
Good example.
Mine was toasted with PEM's (front & rear with wrapped xover), 3" DP, 3" catback, 180*, AL104's, FWI, 3.5", 1.84:1 RR...wonder how that is...hmmm...

Our cars differ greatly in boost measurements with the same pulleys. Some people claim to have a max of five pounds boost with the stock pulley and some record 9....I was one who had nine pounds of boost on stock pulley, however I had no knock and no mods at the time...this has been discussed many times and there are no measurements that are the same boost wise on our vehicles...it is just an approximation of how well our intake/motor/exhaust flow together everything considered unless something is way out of line.My car is mostly stock and have been battling high amounts of KR (5-8*). I know that the original pulley is still on there, but notice through my scan that at WOT I have gotten up to 9.11 lbs. of boost. I believe this is related to the high KR and was wondering what other factors that could occur over time would increase boost to that level. From what I have read, stock pulley usually generate between 7-8 lbs.
