no because the 3.8 is a v6, not a v8. The fact that a v6 is comparable to a certain v8 makes that v8 a turd
It's a SUPERCHARGED v6.
Boost the v8, see what happens.
Take the boost from the v6... and it's going no where.

... which 14's aren't bad for a stock car, that you can usually pick up real cheap..
Same goes for GTP's... high 14's low 15's in stock conditions.
So does that make the 3.8's turds, since they can only push out 14's stock?
It is true. Stock GP GT is only like 190ish HP. Stock late 90's style mustang V6 is about the same.
If you want to talk about a "comparable" V6, talk about the 3.6 in the new 'maro. Has about the same horsepower as the V8 GP
Direct Injection works wonders.
Its more than just direct injection bud.
well i have my stang for now and its a v6 but i made it sound real nice(Long Tube Headers, Flowmaster 40's, No cats, o/r H-pipe)It had to have been a V8. V6 Mustangs sound like an 80 year old retarded person with the squirts

I agree with this statement. I have 2001 Crown Vic Police Interceptor with v8 240 hp, 276 tq. Throw 6 psi and make over 315+ Whp. I agree N/A stock 4.6L's are a joke. But once you modify or boost it's a whole different story. I'm pretty sure my Pretty much stock CV would Eat my pretty much stock Regal Gs on top end. But down low there is no comparison Gs would run away.haha...
the 4.6's are low compression and LOVE boost. with out boost tho there not doing much. ive seen plenty of people dump loads of money into the 4.6 na and hardly get any power. but on the other hand boost it like a termi and batta bing batta boom. and 2v's can make comparable power to a 4v when boosted.
but stock, yes the 4.6's are turds. the best thing about it is these kids that have them dont know that and i end up showing them tail lights alot![]()

Police Interceptors top out at 130 mph.
because of the driveshaft...
I agree, for the money spent it's not that impressive especially since going boosted is about the same price of all bolt ons. 310whp and 340rwtq is not bad, but you could make that at low boost and probably hit close to 500whp with about 10-12 boost. I like n/a but boost is the way to go in hp race, unless you are running a big block :th_laugh-lol3:
