has anyone ever put other OEM mufflers on their GTP? like from a v8 car so that it's still quiet and doesn't sound like **** like most aftermarket exhausts for out cars (the exhaust manifold's fault, nothing we can do about it.) but has a better flowing muffler.

i was thinking from the V8 gtps, stang, camarro, lexus or some other car with a V8.

Haha, our mufflers flow just fine. It's not the catback that has flow issue, it's the DP and front exhaust manifold. THOSE are the problem areas and no muffler is going to change that. You want to help flow, get a 3" DP and a PLOG & ported rear mani

i have both of those...

i do not want an aftermarket exhaust because they all sound like crap IMO, i'm just looking for a quiet better flowing mufflers.

The system on my 2006 G/T with the polished tips comming out the back, the nice set with 4 chrome tips, rocks. I think its the best sounding passenger sedan I've been around ((with stock system))

I take that back: Remeber the old pontiac tempest / chevy corsica with a V6 sounding really mean stock :) I think it had a 2.8 engine :D

stock muflfers are good for 300+ horsepower. are you putting out at least that much?? if not, your stock mufflers are flowing just fine

if you want more power, remove your catalytic converter. if you wanna do absolutely nothing for your cars performance, replace the mufflers

Stock catback is good for 350 FWHP before having flowing issues...pretty sure the OP doesn't have 350 WHEEL horsepower. Only exhaust mods that actually increase performance are either headers/downpipe/u-bend delete or the PLOG...the converter in these cars nets you nothing when you delete it. Proven. If you want more power by doing exhaust mods...just get headers...and throw mufflers on it if you want a different tone. Keep the resonator...because if you get rid of it...it'll sound like ass.

i just want improved flow and still sound stock. due to the unequal length manifolds i think GPs sound like crap so i would still like an OEM muffler made to keep things quiet.

Catless DP with the stock catback sounds great IMO. It's louder than stock but still pretty tame, no real rasp either.

My borla mufflers flow a lot better. Almost 2 mpg gain and they sound great

haha, liar. you did not get 2 MPG from mufflers.

flowmaster 40 series DO NOT sound like crap.

dont lie.

is the firing order different on the camaros because there is a huge difference in the sounds of these cars.

they are able to put equal length headers on it. we have a crossover to bring the front manifold to the back. uneven exhaust pulses FTL.

also, can someone explain to me what the differences between v8 and v6 mufflers are? a muffler is a ****ing muffler.
