So on Wednesday, I was T-boned in my 2002 Trans Am, it was the first time i really had it out after I put on my STS twin turbo setup. Some asian foreign exchage student who obviously doesn't under stand what a red light means, TOTALED MY CAR! I'm still extremely pissed, it only had 20K on it! And when i got out, he didn't even ask if i was okay, he just started ranting bout how "I" hit is brand new Porsche...man I'm glad his daddy has money.
Now for today's shenanigans...I was driving my GTP, and i floored it and at about 4000 rpms it started to studder. After a little investigation, i found that i had a bad connector on my #4 cylinder plug wire, where it connects to the coil. So the coil male connector is all rusted, and i busted the wire. All well and good right, just buy new wires...well nope, i ordered a set yesterday and like a dumbass had it sent to my parent's house, as Im down in college and have no place to work on it. Now i have to go buy a new set of wires. GREAT.
 


The frame is bent pretty badly, with two cracked rims and god knows what else needs to be replaced, i probably won't, but im deff going to pull the sts off of it....i wonder how hard it would be to make that turbo system work for a 3800? This could get interesting.
 
Thats what I am saying. Buy it back and get all you stuff out off of it. Or pull the whole engine and swap it into something.
 
welp, i got the TA back for the demod, and im kinda sad. Ive been looking for a v6 5speed so that i can put this kit onto it. It should bolt up the same, except it needs about a 4" extention as the motor sits farther back. I'm really bummed because the only nice ones i find are convt's and i want to stay with t'tops. I wish that asian knew what a red light meant.
 


and i just realized that this thread further proves the stereotype that asians suck at driving

sorry about the T/A, but im not sorry about the STS turbo kit being gone. thats the worst turbo setup ever.
 
Take the quote to your (or his) insurance company and get them to pay. Or, you might have a civil suit against him. $6k is no joke...

What's with the screen name? You a small bore competitor? Been to Perry? Not many people know what the x ring is.

yep thats what i did, i got another $4k from them, they discounted me 2k because it was customized, and it wasn't in my policy, and i guess the turbo had something to do with the estimate

When my wife totalled her Saturn, we refused the initial offer and they gave us $800 more (I think). It was a '96 with 140k, pretty beat up, so we were happy with that. We didn't have any docs saying that somebody would give us cash for it, but I went to the local listings and pulled prices there for an arguement. It worked for the most part.
