Pics of my engine tear down dial up user beware

Just got a call from my machine shop and they said the crank looked so good all they are ganna do is polish it
the oly signs that the engine had 185xxx on it is the exhaust valve seats they were hammered pretty good
did the valve gringing today and have of the valve seats its a bit tricky i found out if your not used to it

Send the pistons and piston rods to the machine shop. Have the rods align bored. Trust me on this one. You'd really only like to do this once and the minute you unbolt a rod....it's needed.

The block pistons rods crank balance shaft and cam all went every things getting aligned and checked new pistons and so on
I even sent the cam to get checked just incase money falls short and i cant get my s1x

I run a devils own kit and have no problems. I wish I would have built a 3800 instead of the I6 for my jeep when we had to do engines.

Yea it was ganna be my 86 c30's 454 or my gp's engine and as much as i want to build up my truck the gp was bleeding oil pretty bad looks like it was just the oild pan but still

now the heads are off to the machine shop the exhaust valveseats were shot couldnt gring them with out going to deep but its ok i figured it would need something unexpected

that's definitely more of the engine than i've seen, props on putting up pics, it was a good idea. i'd love to do the same thing here in a few years but it's probably just wishful thinking. what school are you going to?

San Joaquin delta college Its a Junior college here in ca They are GM sponsored
I looked t wyo and uti type programs but im a broke ass and didnt wanna be 40grand in dept lol

The engine build is definatly an experiance and ive already made a few big nono mistakes but its all good

haha i get ya on that. i wanted to go to one of those schools, i did my research and my parents pretty much said they wouldn't pay for it. it's not like i had much of a job either, i turned 18 a week after bowling green started this semester. the only good part was i'm here on a full tuition scholarship and a few grants. i should only owe about 2000 after this semester, hard to get mad about that

yea Im actually going free but projects cost money such as engines brake and trans classes Im happy about it though plus they are really focused on the ase tests

Yea i was looking at them at first for the fabrication aspect but after touring the sacramento facility i changed my mind real quick

So the builds at a stand still waiting on parts

someone who is starting with a 3.4 on a cam setup? wow, guy, you clearly have listened to us. i love how people just assume that they can run like a 3.0 pulley right away..hahaha.

got any other pullies that you are buying? youll need them with cam and heads. ;)

I figured 3.4 was a good starting point
But yet another set back some a$$ hat busted the window in my wifes car so now i get to pay for that instead of sending my blower off to get ported and the mps put on
Can you pull the stock pulley off and put an mps on with out the special puller?

So pissed off right now dude busted her window triing to get the cd player a security gaurd chased the guy so he didnt get the stereo but the kicker is the doors were unlocked thats going to be 150 to replace

I plan to drop down to a 3.2 atleast after i get the car up and running scanned and all that fun stuff out of the way

Personally I would rent one from zzp is the cheapest way to go and once you have the MPS hub on it, you shouldnt have to worry about it ever again... Mini does seem to have a good price for purchase of it though.....depends on which way you want to go.
